Spoke to Senior MEL Stn staff today and they are exasperated as to every cabin on every flt being virtually 100% full - expect some changes to proposed schedules post 380 disappearance date as current loadings could not be accommodated - must send some feedback on this very matter
Thank you for posting the passenger count, as always interesting.
Prior to COVID, in 2018, I was on the redeye SQ from MEL to SIN and spoke to a couple of cabin crew. They said, in separate chats, that planes on the route were 'always full.' Allowing for poetic licence, it seems nothing has changed, despite a gradual increase in frequencies.
91.69 per cent of seats were filled on your trip, but much higher in the more expensive seats. I thought that on any transport mode with compulsory seat reservation, up to five per cent of passengers are 'no shows' for a huge variety of reasons, so that makes it even more impressive.
Unless SQ has quietly changed its policy on upgrades - "none" IIRC! - it's probably doing well very financially re that flight, which wasn't on a Friday, or a weekend. It was also not in school holidays, and not pre-Easter or pre-Christmas, although it's the busy season for travel to Europe (rpovided one can afford the accommodation rates in summer).
It's amazing how many more passengers SQ carries on routes to/from Oz where it competes with nonstop QFi flights. Shows the strength of the SWQi brand, notwithstanding constant criticism of the alleged poor design of the J cubby hole.
