SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

While I don’t have any evidence as such, I recall being told that Saver redemptions could be changed or cancelled up until 24 hours prior to departure. This is going back about 10 years, so I have no idea whether this is still accurate or not.
Some time ago there used to be two fees - the smaller one for cancellation greater than 24 hrs from departure and a higher fee for cancellation <24 hrs prior to departure.

Edit: found it KrisFlyer Service Fees

$30 USD to cancel. Additional $75 if done <24 hrs before departure or after departure.

Is it just me or are the A350 economy seats somehow narrower or smaller pitch than normal (i.e. 777 or A380). I found my recent flight SIN-BOM nearly impossible to avoid elbowing my seatmates. Not a comfortable experience, for someone who generally has been happy with SQ's Y product.

why is it if I'm trying to book a redemption today for the 30 June 2024 (the latest I can book), it says "no flights available".

So Europe - (via SIN) - SYD it says no results. But I can book the same as 2 trips (Europe to SIN and SIN to SYD) for 30 June 2024 today withouse issues?

doesnt seem to matter what time of day I search (even now, 5pm in SYD)

Not sure if it helps but we had more luck flying back to Brisbane

I am looking at economy rewards seats to Europe next May, no problems finding them but I can't work out how to add a domestic connection on the same ticket.

For example: 15 May 2024

MEL > CDG saver award seats available on search
Search separately for HBA>MEL, plenty of VA seats bookable using Krisflyer when click 'Other Partner Airlines'
Search HBA > CDG and nothing on any of the booking options.

Is this something I need to ring up and book? (sad face), obviously want everything on the same ticket

Thanks for your help!

I don’t think it’s possible to add VA connection to SQ flight using KF points.

Just got a personal reply from SQ Australia Customer Service after making some comments about our experience on our recent holiday to Europe. It contained this little gem that I thought would be of interest:

"from 01 September 2023, we are scheduled to resume our hot towel service for our Business and First class passengers."

Always appreciate a personal reply. I was generally complimentary of the soft product that definitely met my expectations but less so of the hard product and menus.

I've had that experience - I just try a day or two later and it's all good - they seem to have a system error where the calender displays a day or two ahead of what you can then click through and book - has anyone else had this experience?

Yeah but by then some have turned into waitlist or advantage only

I've seen similar when booking the return leg (LHR-SYD) - it's almost like you cant book it then because it isn't the right date / time over there - yet you can see the individual flights.

24 hours fixed it for me - but as @daft009 says - maybe gone by then...

This is good news about the hot towels. I heard the same date thrown around a couple of months ago, so it sounds like they've firmed up on it. It'll please many, no doubt.

As a very long time SQ passenger @mel-world, I'd be interested to hear more about the feedback you submitted.

If a search for 1 seat has availability for Saver and Advantage, does that mean I can book 1 of each? Or will the advantage seat go to waitlist when I book the saver?

Advantage should still be available. Book saver first IMO

It’s an issue that has been discussed before. I have always managed to book online but perhaps try calling:

Krisflyer Booking - 'System limitation' error
