SIN to BNE and back seems to have major availability issues in J?

Date just opened under an hour ago and all on waitlist.

Into SYD everything is wide open

always wanted to try the staff canteens but fairly sure have to clear customs.
not so easy to find, i did try once but gave up pretty quickly
Went to the T1 staff canteen (Orchis food court) the other day and it was great. The directions in the blog post linked to the above comment are poor. It is land-side, upon exiting customs, turn hard left and walk through the glass doors at the end of the terminal, immediately turn left again and you will see a sign for "Staff Canteen", down the stairs and you are there. Great range of local food and great prices.

Has been like the the last few weeks I’ve been checking. Everything waitlisted. But then the same dates have plenty out of SYD & MEL.

Thanks will try next weekend when in Singapore. I'm at Crowne Plaza for 12hrs

I want to be in China late Sept - plenty rdpts into PVG 22, 25 and 26 - but getting out of PEK or PVG a totally diff proposition:

ZERO J rdpts entire week - never ever seen this before

And I always love to check Comm Tix - one way return:

CNY1 = AUD0.2040 or AUD1 = CNY4.9019 - kinda pricey whichever way you look at it.

Hainan Airlines J PEK-MEL / PVG-MEL ~AUD2450 - have flown them plenty dom Chinese flts but never Intl - that could well change.

Edit: HU J PEK-MEL / PVG-MEL ~AUD2450 showing on ITA - ~AUD4200 on HU Web Site

Have I mentioned just what a pr*ck of an idea it is that 207 has F cabin and not 217? 55min connection FRA-SIN-MEL - drives me around the twist:

We had two J flights in the last week. SQ256 BNE-SIN and SQ468 SIN-CMB, We both thought there had been a marked improvement on our European trip in Sept 2022 and India trip in Feb 2023. The crews seemed much more organised, enthusiastic and outgoing. The food was certainly improved( also garlic bread readily available), pre-departure bubbles actively offered, the listed alcohol was all available and the material hand towels in the plane bathrooms were in plentiful supply :) . Our flight to Colombo was from T2 and the Singapore lounge experience was excellent

We're currently in Lanka too. Leaving Friday night to head back.

T2 lounge was a lot nicer than I was expecting and most of the menu items were there, except maybe the coughtails

FWIW re bulkhead / preferred J Class seats - at check-in this morn T-48 for Sat/Sun flts MEL-SIN-PVG I confirmed 19K on 350 reg fit out and 96D on 380

R and F Savers to/fro EU in this case FRA-SIN-MEL are spasmodically available but you need to be on the ball - I secured Jul 8, 2024 this morn right on 10:02 - so whilst 207 is still a pr*ck of a connection at 183K for 20hrs in F Cabins is still a great way to fly - and as flying solo hopefully we miss the connection as was case on June 8 this year and get diverted via SYD again with 3hrs in TPR to boot 👍

I onto it.!!

Just got off SQ221 this morning...

1 pax in J had her iPad on all night on speaker. No one really did anything
1 pax in row 91 (bassinet row) was complaining about loud babies

1 of mine was loud too but fell asleep within 5 mins of them turning the cabin lights off.. can't say the same for the others

Did anyone report pax with ipad on speaker to the crew? Some airlines like Etihad are good at this… quick sharp visit to offending passenger!
