SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Which = 8am SIN time - hasn't it always been that time?
Amadeus turns over at Midnight *UTC = 10am Brisbane = 8am Singapore.

* (Coordinated Universal Time, previously known as GMT or Greenwich Mean time).

In December it is 11am local for those Eastern States/Territories that have Daylight Savings.

On the last day.
Great, that's really helpful.

Also if you book an award ticket ~1 year out and the miles were due to expire that month, can you change the dates with same class, origin and destination to a date in the future?
Is it along the lines of approx a year from first ticketed departure date?

Over the years I always thought it was 11am AEST and I never had any problems. however these days are not normal and obviously quite a few sweating on the day's release hence me seeing lots of wait list savers. but strange that within an hour all SIN - BNE flights were waitlist ( but all available when it ticked over to 1000 ) but all SYD flights had saver availability. Guess we are just a bit keener up here.

Available J and R / F possibilities March 31, 2024 - MEL 1 x F Cabin:

SYD 2 x R Cabin / 2 x F Cabin:

Still hard to fathom - MEL can only fill 4 F seats daily where SYD can fill 20? Seriously?

As for actual loadings there is an existing thread where actual loadings as opposed to peoples thoughts can be listed - it only takes 2 mins and every Cabin Manager whether it's R / F / J / S / Y will give you actual numbers for that flight - IMHO the best indicator that can be posted.

I am not going to waste time trying to tally available seats in all cabins and compare MEL to SYD - and I wish I could get access to actual loadings from SQ for both ports but alas not aware of an avenue

Agree - Poor MEL loses the A380 in November 2023 and then only gets 1 or perhaps 2 x 777 service, while SYD gets 2 x A380 and 2 x 777 :(

I thought MEL was going to all 777's for all 5 flights but seems to be 4 x A350's and 1 x 777.

Oh well

Going back three steps to the idea of adding non-SQ flights to an SQ award booking - can you add on a VA sector to the end of an SQ booking?

Full PDB on my flight today and amenity kit proactively offered. On the other hand do FA could not be less friendly. Still step in the right direction. BNE Lounge was completely fill too.

And the the lovely lady in Green just had a gorgeous chat with me. When SQ are switched on....they are the best in the world
When I flew with SQ in April, one of the FAs has a blue kebaya. I hadn’t seen one of those before - only green, red and purple.

L to R - Hazel FSS (Flight Stewardess) / Rahnee LSS (Leading Stewardess) / DNT CSS (Chief Stewardess) / Sharon IFM (In Flight Manager)

I had previously heard rumours of blue kebayas, but never seen one - but I had never seen one in the F cabin.
