SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

once again ive left my redemption before expiry to the last minute :(

question: im looking for a flight melb to LHR, Return

there is some avaialability that im happy with, but when i try and book a return flight on the return leg it says "advantage from 154,000"
but the actual table doesnt have the advtange column, just the saver column (which are all waitlisted anyway)

is this a website issue?

Thought I’d just post a recent KrisFlyer experience given the glaring comparison with many experiences with reward tickets on our national carrier.

I booked a Suites Advantage Award from SIN to SYD online. A few weeks later, I’ve changed my plans and want to add a Business class award from SGN a few days before the SIN-SYD. This fits within the same price on the award chart and Advantage awards include a stopover so should be no extra points, just taxes. But I have to call as it’s a mixed-class booking.

As a nothing KrisFlyer member I call. It is answered within 2 or 3mins. The agent finds the availability, checks the price of the new ticket, confirms no extra points and free stopover, takes credit card for taxes and issues a new award ticket all in about 10mins.

Such a bizarrely easy transaction ….

Is there a website/way i could check which flights from melb or a particular city have the new first class suites? I have a feeling melb is very limited/none

You need to check the metal, only 380s have suites and all are new configuration (6 seats).

So if I have booked an award 9pm departure from Singapore and waitlisted the 9am departure because I prefer day flights what change fees am I up for if waitlist comes through?

FWIW a few days ago I was looking to change an Adv rdpt booking MEL-SIN-PVG 04/05/2024 to 03/05/2024 but showing ZERO availability - logged in today and wide open availability Sav and Adv rdpts inventory showing - PEK-SIN-MEL on 12/05/2024 same - continue your searches and who knows what you might turn up 👍

Edit: I should add I did have a W/L for 03/05/2024 that did not clear when rdpt inventory added so don’t just sit and wait be proactive and seek

Your booking lookup is Aug 2024.

What you posted has R finishing in Nov 2023., and the source states:
Updated: 6th September 2023
Valid until: 30th March 2024
