Yum! I want to try that one.
I thought exactly the same thing when she brought it to me! ;)

So I did - delicious - BUT - TBH - I prefer the Prelude that preceded this in SQ J - it's NV but my god it was good. Pls pls pls don't think what a wanker complaining about the Champs on board SQ J - our own personal taste is all that really matters

Not sure if this is the right place for this question but........
I am transferring 40k QFF points to my cousin to top up for EK flights. Rather than transfer the QFF points back when he has them, he has SQ KrisFlyer points which I would prefer (as a redemption nominee) - what would the wise ones here think the value of my 40k QFF points be in KrisFlyer miles?

The KF miles are definitely worth 'more' than QF miles because it costs must less to redeem a flight with KF than it does with QF. But 40k is probably slightly short of a meaningful redemption unless you want to redeem a intra-Asia flight.

An 1 way redemption from Australian East Coast to SIN would be ~46k in business class so just a bit more miles would get you that or even better, 63k for a F flight is fantastic value on that route as it is only 17k more for the F flight.

You can do a round trip in economy for around ~42k or thereabouts between Australia and SIN so that could be another option, but fuel surcharges do not make it worthwhile at all to redeem in economy.

Just out of interest -had you always had this route booked or was it an alternative route to DPS due to ash? We're booked Saturday BNE-DPS with VA, but I'm looking at canceling and rebooking with SQ .

Always had it booked like this. Was a fairly late booking so didn't bother checking award availability with VA.

Ok pic finally loaded - see the 2 BPs and the invitation to TPR - whenever you are travelling R or F on SQ you are entitled to access TPR in SIN - it's not obligatory to have the TPR invitation with you for access but for first / once only / occasional pax this TPR invitation with your name, flt details etc on rear is a sensational souvenir - I encourage all to make sure you get your hands on one.

Every dep port has stock of these TPR invitations - it's some lazy ports such as MEL and SYD are nowhere near as vigilant as handing them out as say Asian or European ports. So when dep MEL or SYD - ask ask ask for your TPR invitations - check in agents are supposed to furnish to ALL R and F pax.

Missed you by 10! Flew home on Friday on SQ217

Flew out of BKK recently (in J) and then connecting to R at SIN.

At checkin, they gave me the correct coloured boarding passes but no TPR invitation. Thought it was poor but given that these go straight into the bin anyway, I decided not to follow up further.

Then when I was at the gate and had my BP scanned, the gate agent hands me the TPR invitation and apologised for not having one at the checkin.

Talk about some proactive service!

Unfortunately, upon landing in SIN, we had to go through the landing bag check, which annoys the hell out of me.

mitwg I hear you about the bag checks - how is this - MNL-SIN-MEL - normal security check after checkin MNL - pre boarding check MNL - arr check SIN - pre boarding check SIN - 4 times!

Cruiser, do you know what happens with priority baggage tagging on mixed-class trips?

Does it get tagged with the highest cabin? Do ports without F (like IST) keep F tags/BPs/TPR invites too?

Priority bag tags are great little souvenirs too – they follow you home!

TBH no I do not know - have never ever looked - just grab the bags and run - FWIW my bag was first up the chute Sat morn arr on 227 into MEL!
