haha bar man F lounge T3... what's this about sneaking the LGD out of TPR to have it served there though CE! must've been last year or longer since they had the LGD in TPR too.

Correctamundo - this is Muhammed - he is the barman in SKL F T3 - he is a LEGEND! The Champs is indeed Veuve 2004 Ponsardin - a great drop. TPR now serving PH Rare - I love that also - not as much as VCLGD but its still a great drop IMHO.

Back to Muhammed - he works from 5pm IIRC to closing time Mon-Sat - he has Sun off. He is just the loveliest guy - great conversationalist - great manner with pax - and he loves his job. If you want to know anything about SIN or indeed most subjects then Muhammed is your man. Flying solo and need a chat? - he is your man - and it is a typical bar - sit there for 2 mins and you will end up in a conversation with someone from wherever quaffing great drinks - great way to while away the time!

Lots of five minute schedule change notifications today!

Yeah, I noticed while checking my seats (Im developing a ODC issue with daily seat check!) that my 11.15am departure is now 11am. Departs 15mins early but schedule to arrive only 5mins earlier than previous plan.

I wasn't aware that I needed to do a daily seat check. Is there a danger they could change my chosen seat? Otherwise I could also develop OCD, and there's a lot of checking btw now and July.

If you have booked through SQ web site and selected your seat you will never need to recheck - your seat will be secure unless change forced by metal change and in those circumstances SQ will contact you directly if you are in F or J.

Earlier this year there was a thread about a J pax being downgraded long haul (Qantas?), since then Ive become a seat checker. Like I said, its becoming an OCD thing.

Plus I keep thinking, do I dump hubby from the 2 middle seats to a window seat but then I lose the bulk head (A380) and the extra foot area, but the TV is further way in the bulk head.... decisions, decisions. Havent broken it to hubby yet that I want to dump him for a window with extra storage area on the side.

Don't dump him Denali!

Bulkhead > side storage IMHO

For seat change, I know there are several services available but an app that I would recommend is called MyFlights and I heard this is now free on iOS. Basically, add your PNR to the app and it'll sync with the servers and pop up with a notification if ANY aspects of the flight changes.

This includes seats, aircraft type, terminals, time, FF number, etc. Quite an handy app if you are a bit OCD about this.

Back on topic, on SQ, I've only had 3 occasions where they changed my seats. 2 times were in Y, where they changed from the Y upper deck A380 to the fully J upper deck A380, which basically is an equipment swap.

Second time was when I was seated on the last row of a 777-300, where they asked if I could change at the gate to the very front row of the 777 because some passenger needed it for medical purposes.

The only time other time where I was asked to change seats on SQ was when I was actually travelling in R. I was sitting in the TPR awaiting to board a flight and a SQ staff comes to me and politely asks if I could change seats from 2K for another passenger. I didn't want to make too much fuss so I accepted (they moved me to 3K) but I asked why and they told me it was because this passenger 'always sat in 2K' so they were trying to accommodate if I was okay with that.

Later on board, I asked him and he was TPP12 or something like that.

Agreed – MyFlights is great.

What's TPP12?

I read through this whole thread today to try to get a handle on mixed class redemptions. Its a great read and I can only thank all the contributors for making this thread such a great pool of information about SQ.

Despite thinking I had a handle on mixed class redemptions, I got off the phone with KF confused.

In short I would like to travel SGN-SIN-SYD at the end of my trip in Vietnam. From SGN to SIN the highest class is J and I am trying to get into a F Saver Suite for the SIN-SYD leg.

I re-read the initial parts of the thread to see whether I had misunderstood how mixed class redemptions should be charged. KF consultant kept saying I need to book two separate rewards although they would provide the 15% online discount if I booked through them.

So having read and re-read the threads, I was thinking Groundhog Day.

I would be grateful if someone could confirm the points required for a SGN-SIN-SYD redemption (in J Saver SGN-SIN) and F Saver Suite (SIN-SYD). My best guess is that it should be charged at the F saver rate (ie the highest class of the trip) of 75,000KF points less the 15% - so 63,750KF points plus taxes etc. Am I barking up the wrong tree here? KF say the cost is 95,000KF points before the discount (20,000 J for SGN-SIN and 75,000F for SIN-SYD).
