I was unable to change to BNE on the 14th April as there were no flights available, even if that is an option.

Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone can help me,
I currently have 2 Business class points flights from JNB to SIN on the 9th April and the same from SIN to BNE on the 1st May. The JNB to SIN leg is fine but I want to change the SIN to BNE to SIN to SYD to the 14th April of which there are redemption flights available on 3 different flights that day. Upon ringing SIA today to make changes i am told it is not possible to change my itinerary as their system does not allow it. The customer service lady was very helpful and I was on the phone for an hour, can anyone give me some ideas on how I can change my flights please.

Unfortunately once the booking has been ticketed it’s not possible to change the destination unless you agree to cancel and rebook the whole itinerary. Your best option ATM is to keep an eye on flights to BNE for the dates you need in case they become available.

MY flight from JNB is on the 10th April arriving SIN 11th April at 6.15 am. There is a flight to BNE that night at 9.30pm. Do you think that would work re changing booking. Thank you for you reply.

Yes, that should work as you are only changing the date.

After another long phone call I've managed to change to SIN/ BNE to the 11th. SIA did not want to do it at first as they classify it as a new booking and we couldn't cancel and rebook as the miles had expired. Eventually they made an exception and allowed the changes. I have had to change a few bookings over the years with SIA and they have always come through with the goods. They are a fantastic airline to deal with both on the ground and in the air.

Thanks boomy.

Asking for a friend who wants to do Japan and Europe in J (separate trips) but doesn’t have enough points for both. How do SIA do with J points upgrades from paid Y tickets? Can you get guaranteed upgrade effectively immediately after you book Y and tickets are issued?

Strange they didn’t want to change the date as it’s within the T&C. Your expiring points shouldn’t be an issue since you move the arrival date back, not forward.

Anyway, glad it all worked out for you in the end 🙂

🙂

Speculating that could have been an issue of converting to ticket with stopover to one without stopover, although it shouldn't make a difference.

I didn't have a stopover on my original ticket. They said the date I wanted to swap to was a new booking and if I wanted to start again I would have to cancel my old booking and if that was the case my points that I made the booking with in June 23 would have expired in October 23. A new booking would cost 167000 points.
Anyway as I've mentioned they came to the party and all is well. No extra points or money required. That's why I fly SIA , they are fantastic.

My apologies, it was a stopover on a single ticket.
JNB to SIN April 10 then SIN to BNE MAY 1st. I just wanted to change the second leg to April 11th. There was availability on the website for that date but that's what they said was classed as a new booking.

SQ208 MEL - SIN
SQ318 SIN - LHR

Good start for the year flying the best airline on my favourite seat 🤩

Besides good food and bubbles, what SQ does best is customer service. For example, the FA made sure to ask if the cabin temperature and lighting are ok and offered to adjust accordingly. I think it’s great as I prefer cooler and dim cabin on longer flights. Usually the crew just decides what’s best and don’t bother to consult pax.

Another example, on the flight to SIN I fell asleep half way and woken up gently by the CSM 20 minutes before landing to go and change while another FA was standing by the door with my clothes ready.

On the flight to LHR I woke up 55 minutes before landing thinking I’ve missed on the 3 course dinner but FA said don’t worry we have plenty of time. Dinner was served calmly with no rush like we have all the time in the world and the table cleared only 15 minutes before landing.

This is beyond first class, this is private plane service!

Well @boomy you are missing the fun with the headache story. Russians would be shocked to read your post seeing they drink gallons of vodka because they can.
