SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I think I saw this discussed in this thread but can't seem to find it.

What is the best way to waitlist an F award but lock in a J award? There is availability in J for a SYD-FRA award I want to book but all F awards are waitlisted. Is there a way to have the waitlist on the same booking, or should I just waitlist the F award and then book the J award, and cancel the J if the waitlist clears?

Tks,

LT
