I'm considering giving them a call and applying over the phone. I don't have a company in the US, I've got a company here in Australia. Are there some things I need to bear in mind with these "Business" applications? I'm happy with how my Green Card is working - don't want to put that at risk for a quick 100K Marriott points.

Yes. Quite a few have used Global Transfer, which uses your existing Amex AU profile for the application. See post # 47 to start with. There are also posts on the experience of others.

Prob easiest legitimate way it to obtain a ITIN no to open up an online share trading account. Just purchase a few penny stocks & sell. Also allot of trading platforms in USA offer no commission fees when buying & selling stocks.

Ask for Daniel to setup a ITIN. The IRS has serious backlog of work to do, so it will take allot longer to get a ITIN setup. You can reach Daniel from Tax & Accounting Services

He also has knowledge on both USA & Aus taxes...!!!

I got 2 business cards from Amex (Marriott and Plat Charge). However, I have a SSN and had a active Personal Amex in the US till Sep 2019. The form is basic.

Just had a look at Bonvoy Business.looks interesting. I have the basic Bonvoy card after they converted my old SPG card.

can I convert it to Business to get the new signup or do I need to apply again? Do I need a business that’s operating in the US? I’m operating one in Australia.

The answer is No you dont need a business operating in the US. You could be buying and selling stuff on eBay.

That's what ya need if you're a foreign investor to invest on US platforms. Even if you buy 1 penny stock, you open up the world to obtain personal checking accounts, setting up business LLC, INC & obtain Chase Credit Cards.
