Strategy to obtain US Amex

Has anybody tried for Chase cards with MyUS address? Are Chase cards shipped via ordinary post?
Did you receive your Chase card via ordinary post? Hoe long did it take? Do we need to have MyUS PREMIUM account or it is time we to relocate? TIA

Not via ordinary post. Requested for a replacement that was sent as Priority.
Premium won't be required if one's happy for MyUS to send the mails they as they are received (single package). Though mine is a premium account.

After a long period of indecisiveness, took the plunge and got the Platinum. 125k welcome bonus and 15x on dining for 6 months (up to $25k) swung the pendulum for me. Still don't see the value in keeping it beyond Year 1, but will decide closer to the date.

I only got 60k when I applied ha but it was only $450 fee back then. Will renew for one more year at $550 (Got 30K retention offer). Not sure about next year. Retention offer is normally available every 13 months so I tried to get one early. Might keep for another year if the offer next year is good. If I were you, I would ask about the retention offer. They offer 30k-50k now but when the fee is higher next year, we might be able to get 50k+.

I remember the 60k days, it was almost incomprehensible to imagine anything like 125k at the time. I am ok with $695 fee, the problem is outside of the $200 hotel credit, its pretty hard to use any of the other perks unless you happen to visit US frequently.

I will see what the retention offers are at the time of renewal, but anything shy of 50k I will probably cancel. For now though, I have the challenge of maximising 15x on dining. Not easy being in lockdown. 😉

I have got the amex hilton aspire card. Can I use the $250 airline credit on UA travel bank?
Absolutely! I have reloaded my travel bank thrice.Twice from Aspire (since it's a calendar year benefit), once from Platinum.

Those of who you are using Wise to pay your cards. How do you get around "No Further Credit." Are there any additional charges like $20 in XE?

If you are using Wise, you can open a USD account and just pay the card via direct debit, you don't need to setup a manual payment for that.

The struggle people has was before Wise allows people to have a USD account with direct debit.

I have read on many sites that MyUS wont work with Amex etc.

Is this not the case anymore and it is fine?
It's not clear what you mean by "MyUS won't work with Amex."
I got all three of my US Amexes via MYUS, although there're reported hit and miss situations with lower-end cards, which Amex mostly sends through USPS. However, I had no issues with receiving all of my cards, including lower-end ones. You can always ask them to re-issue the card to your Aus address if you run into trouble.

Can we still make manual payments without direct debits?

It depends on what you mean by manual payment. If you are referring to making one off payment on the amex website using registered account details, then yes, but it will go via the same system as direct debit.

If you are referring to international wire transfer, which was the way people made payments previously, then I assume you still can, but best check with amex to confirm they haven't changed the details.

Thank you. I heard recently that MyUS was being tagged as a commercial address so when you do international transfer to open your new Amex it gets rejected.

I have two US Amex cards. One was opened in January 2020 and the other this year, in June 2021. Both came via MyUS without any issues.

I am so sorry, I misread the article completely.

I have also checked the MyUS address at USPS and it says N for Commercial Mail Receiving (so should not flag as a post forwarding service).

Apologies.

I finally got my dining credit for September's Starbuck's spend on my Aspire card, but given how long it took, a statement has generated in the meantime, so it shows a statement balance of $20, but a total balance of zero, do I still need to pay off the statement balance?

I read this somewhere: “You should see something like "Remaining Statement Balance" which takes into account any credits that have posted”. Was that of any help? 😀

If you have AutoPay set up for the ‘Total New Balance’, it should keep you out of trouble.

Edit: I’m still waiting for the Starbucks credit from early September, although the October credit came through through pretty fast. Chat, a couple of days ago, was useless, stating 8-12 weeks.

Request for a manual credit which should show up in 3 business days. I had mine resolved this way.
