Strategy to obtain US Amex

Lol I have never used an ewallet but others have said they trigger fraud reviews. Probably best to get the actual card.
Probably . Actually having the card sent to the us and then having the very first transaction done in oz a few weeks later may trigger a review as well . Might be advisable to get your friend to make a few small purchases then freeze the card if possible while it is being shipped .

Nice, congrats!
So itins work with credit.com?
How did you add your itin to your hsbc account?
Not credit .com . Equifax core credit . Works well there . Hsbc premier took all details over the phone then send me an online form to sign and complete .

There is no option to freeze a Bank of America credit card. But I can make a small donation to a charity in USD online. They don't even have travel notifications anymore. They "monitor for suspiscious activity". I already do that myself, I have an email notification sent to me everytime a transaction posts to the card for my existing accounts. What a PITA this bank is!

Saw a shipment for myUS and wondering what it was. Looks like they have restarted sending out physical cards for Priority Pass. Said why not. Went for the AusPost option which gave me a cheaper yet trusted option.

Will take a long time to get the card using AusPost though.

Wanted to say another thanks to all who have contributed knowledge to this thread, I just redeemed my Aspire free night cert + 140k points (from Aspire SUB) on 3 nights at the Hilton Tokyo in early April 2023 (peak high season), cash equivalent $1500 AUD on current rates which will undoubtedly go up when the borders reopen.

Just out of curiosity, how do you all avoid getting pinged by the fraud team ?
I am going to apply for the AMEX Aspire , and i am worried that any spendings in Australia will trigger the Fraud team.

Used 2 cards almost exclusively in australia right from start even had permanent addres updated to oz . No issues ever .

Anyone had any experiences getting pinged with can't give you a decision immediately and they'll get back to me in 14 days via GT? I was hoping that I could get a second card via GT....

Some feedback given to me was earlier in the thread was to avoid large purchases for a while. I made about ten small transactions after opening my card with an $8k limit, then got pinged from a ~$700 USD online booking with JAL.

I imagine that purchases made with chip & pin in person are probably less likely to trigger fraud alerts compared with using CC number, expiry & CVC for online purchases.

That aside I had no issues getting my card reactivated using NotaryCam and an AU passport.

Yes . You can follow up by call . They will let you know what the issue is and if they need further docs .

Ended up calling up and they said that there was no credit history. Attempted to transfer me to the global transfer team but they ended up being closed.

Is it worthwhile just cancelling the application and re-apply? I wonder if it's related to the long weekend they have there or some tech issue? I applied for another GT previously without any issues.

This second hitch is provably because this is your second gt application.

You won't get any action over Memorial Day weekend. Anyone who can make decisions will be off. Tomorrow there will be a backlog of calls. Wait until Wed or Thurs and try again.
