Strategy to obtain US Amex

No . When I applied I didn’t have to send my original passport . They ask you to mail their forms and conduct a video interview .
I have posted a link for a Canadian org that might be cheaper for itin applications .

Thanks a lot for the helpful info Blacksultan.

What type of questions were asked during the interview ?
And can you pick the interview time ? (Trying to avoid a 3am interview 😅 )

Thanks Blacksultan. I shall look for that Canadian company.

Blacksultan answered your questions for me.

You can schedule the appointment by yourself and he will confirm with you again. Just asked some basic questions to confirm the information and made a tax return of couple dollars for selling something on eBay. And the tax return is the reason why you need the ITIN to answer the question with IRS.

None of that really matters. US credit card companies don't give out credit cards to non-residents, even US citizens, for obvious reasons.

As for what to do, if you need the credit card (and points) ASAP, call to try to set up a three way call between you, Amex and BoA. If you don't need the card ASAP, wait for your credit report to update.
I got a centurion without much in the way of any significant hassles

Just basic questions . Just a formality to verify and display passport. Also can pick and select convenient time .

Just got my ITIN from EIN Express, haven't got the letter yet, they just gave it to me over email.
Wanna share some DPs here that might be helpful.

I tried to get my credit report online through Equifax(already got it via mail from them and Transunion). It couldn't verify me and mailed in a code and instructions for me to follow. I'll report back when I get the letter and go through it.

Credit.com didn't work for me, I always get an error when I try to open an account there.

At some point I was able to get the verification questions from Experian but it didn't go through, I'm sure I answer them correctly but it doesn't work.

An interesting DP is I was able to use my ITIN to get a CreditKarma account, got the verification questions and passed all. However I don't see any score nor any account information in their app or on their website. It's just empty despite me seeing my accounts on both Equifax and Transunion.
Has anyone seen this before?

It takes time & patience. So either "Hurry up & wait" or "Patience hurry up...!"

Hi everyone,
I have the Aspire card, and with regards to the Priority Pass card, we do get a physical card when we enrol right ? If so, has it been successfully delivered to MyUS addresses ? (Does Priority include the Suite number ?)

I have the digital PP card through the Aspire, and no physical card was delivered. I have had it in Apple Wallet, for the past 2 years.

Edit: I elected for the digital version, but can’t recall how I did it at the time. That prevented a physical card being sent to MyUS.

myUS actually received my Priority Pass card and it was delivered to me with Australia Post. I chose the cheap but trusted option. Took a while but it wasnt urgent.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Well, looks like Priority Pass did include the MyUS suite number on the address, which is good.

Does anyone use their US Amex for their daily spend in Australia? Or can someone elaborate how they use their US Amex to maximize points and minimize fees?

I use mine for my daily spend. I have Amex green so use it predominantly for eating out and on public transport. The bonus categories are working for me atm in AU.

Just use it as a normal CC as people recommended based on the bonus category or min spend for sign up bonus. Just don’t go crazy on large purchases say 2k in the start. I put 5k USD on the card without issues since I have been with them for a long time

Thanks all. Do you find that fx fees from Wise or Revolute make it worthwhile?

Do we need to maintain Ascent Premium account to transfer it to an US Amex Membership Rewards program?

Just back from Fiji and I called Amex hoping to get my card which is sitting at my friend's house in Orlando sent to Australia. It's been well over 10 days. Amex wamted to send me a text with a link to upload my "US driver's license" which of course I don't have. I told him I have a US passport. So he gave me the notarycam website.
I don't think you guys had to go through all this to get your card sent to Australia, did you?

Ok I did the notarycam and got a transaction ID from the notary. What do I do now? Does Amex automatically send the card to Australia? Or do I have to chase them up again? I didn't have the full credit card number, I had to put 9999999999999.
