Strategy to obtain US Amex

I have the "Earn 10,000 Bonus Points each time you spend $5,000, up to 100,000 Points" offer" on my Hilton Aspire Amex. I rang US Amex today to seek clarification on the offer and I was told that each time I spend reaches $5K(can be coughulative spend-doesnt have to be within each statement period) before 30 June 21. I will get 10K pts on my Amex Aspire. I think this a a very good offer and I am planning to pay my BAS using the Aspire card to take advantage of this offer.

Does anyone has this offer too??

Yes. It’s been around for the past three weeks or so.

Only a maximum of 100 offers will be displayed, so it’s best to keep adding offers to your card, in order to receive new offers. They often show when you next login.

that sounds great. but be honest additional 10k points per $5000 spend is only equivalent to additional 1% cash back. I rather put those spend on other cards.
hilton point is only worth about approx 0.5c/point.

Just a DP, I spent $250 on UA travelbank at 21/02 on my Aspire card and it triggered the airline credit today, so the UA travelbank is certainly back as an option.

Edit: And I also managed to get the $20 US restaurant credit by topping up my Starbucks US account.

You mean sometimes you can't top up the account? Not sure, this is the first time I tried this, all I did was installing the Starbucks US app on Google store and topped up that way, all with VPN enabled.

first time i tried topping up via the app had an error occur and no funds added to my starbucks card, however was charged on my amex... Called starbucks customer support and they said there was an error on their end sounding very suspicious like they had detected fraud or something. So they had to escalate my case. I had about $9 on my starbucks card before the top up but the next day it had gone to $0!! I think they may have confiscated my funds...

I got this too. However, I'm leaning towards my Surpass's "Spend 15k get Free Weekend night Certificate". I can see more value there as you can maximise it up to 120k point night. Having said that, this is still a decent value for those who only have Aspire, given this is technically a 25K Hilton points for spending 5000USD

For me too. Received credit of $20 each on Bonvoy and Aspire cards. Also received $99 credit on Aspire for Motley fool. Waiting too see if the purchase is eligible for Alaska air bonus points.
As a DP I loaded my Starbucks account on their website and it triggered the credit.

Finally the email I have been waiting for

it’s very long journey and I just got the Citi Premier.

@Finale thank you for providing some very useful information, what part of this card you are not interested? For me 3x points at SuperMarket and Travel worldwide is well worth it and this is the main reason I want this card. The next target will be Chase. How long should I wait before applying Chase?

Congratulations, you've been approved!

Congrats on getting the card! Certainly been a long journey for you :D.

Did they call up to verify you you were or do a 3 way phone call with your bank this time around? I guess your info will add as another DP of the average wait and setup to get US Non-Amex cards.

No they didn’t but I had to call them asking why it is taking too long. They told me that “we need a copy of your ITIN showing the expiry date”, I said I have not received it in my email.

they told that mailed it to me requesting the information. Then, the lady gave me their email to send the copy.

one thing I noticed that they even verified my phone number, I provided GV number in the application and they told me that is not my number, then I gave my T-mobile number (the real t-mobile one roaming here in Australia, registered under my name), they verified it and said “ok successful this is your phone number” and they asked my middle name as well.
I then sent the copy of my ITIN and explained that the ITIN expires 3 years from the issued date if no tax return lodged.

within 24h I got the approval email. Ya!!!

if you dont mind me asking what are your FICO scores (experian, TU and Equifax). Cause this is my next target (if possible). My experian dropped to 696 since I got approved for the Hyatt. However, my Equifax is 713 and TU is 723. I will wait for a min 3 month after my Hyatt
