This thread will self destruct in 10 weeks time, tick tick tick, however it will get popular next week from Tuesday when the double status credits emails start hitting ;)

Just saw a couple of old (they would have to be) MI episodes in Tokyo last week. :)

I am not sure that is happening this year, we just got the 1.5 x SC email which expires today (?? - I need to check and book I guess)

Apr 14 | Feb15 | F| ARM-SYD-LHR | 192,000 | $911.97 + $30 cc fee | $614.01 | ? | 420 (new rate)

First CSR tried to book a Classic award and charge the service fee. When I said I wanted an ASA in P class, she asked "Why?". Hmmm, HUACA. Second attempt successful.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Just completed this booking with Andrea, who was on the ball and very friendly. Less than eight minutes for the entire call. It's a very similar outcome to one we booked in December, but we will pick up an extra 20 SC by going ASP-ADL-CBR, rather than ASP-MEL-CBR. I think the co-pay was $5 more.

Month booked | Month travelled | Cabin | Route | Points cost | Co-pay* | Classic co-pay~ | Max points cost~ | SCs earned

Apr 14 | Jun 14 | J | ASP-ADL-CBR | 72000 | $589 | $213 | 187100 | 120 | Booking and co-pays are for 2 pax; max points & SCs for 1

Very different experience last night when we originally tried to do this. The bloke we spoke to (didn't get his name) seemed pretty uninterested from the start, wanted to charge us the telephone fee and made us feel like we didn't know what we were doing, even though I'd made ASA bookings before and knew the right terms to use (thanks to the guidance on this site). Both the points and the co-pay he quoted were considerably higher than we expected (more than 10k points extra and over $500 each). When we quoted the Classic award amount he asked why we weren't just booking one of them. So we said we'd need to re-consider our plans and finished the call.

His last comment to us was 'you sound like the sort of people who might be better suited to Classic awards'. I found that really odd and bordering on patronising.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Had a fantastic experience with Cherie from the Platinum Line today. Call only took 3 minutes. She knew exactly what I wanted and quoted the right amount without any hiccups.

Apr 14 | Feb 15 | J | MEL-HKG | 120,000 | $618.72 | $402.44 | ? | 120 | Booking and co-pays are for 2 pax

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

The spreadsheet has been updated to this post.

Please use the following format:

Month booked | Month travelled | Cabin (Y/W/J or F) | Route | Points cost | Co-pay $^ | Classic co-pay $~ | Max points cost~ | SCs earned
e.g. Jan 14 | Apr 14 | J | MEL-SYD | 16,000 | $111.65 + CC fee | ? | ? | 40

^ Indicate if CC fee is included
~ If known

Please PM me any suggestions you have to improve it, to save this thread becoming distracted from its intended purpose.

This is the link to the Google Docs spreadsheet
which is able to be viewed by all (but not edited, to maintain consistency).

No other information is to be posted, please use the other threads for this, just keep this thread to factual information only*

Any discussion about ASAs can occur here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....rogram/has-anyone-had-success-call-51720.html

I have added a column for SC earned for bookings made from April 2014*. Please use the new Qantas SC calculator to ensure accuracy. After 30 June these bookings will not be possible, and there is plenty of discussion about this on AFF elsewhere.*

*This thread is not for any discussion about the changes. I will have no hesitation asking a moderator to delete any posts that are not specifically data related. You have been warned.

Apologies for not getting the formatting/classes right. The agent I was dealing with confused me no end and the info I was getting was all mixed up.
Can I clarify if there was supposed to be a 3,500 FF points booking fee or have I just been robbed?

Beefy
