Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

I will maintain the spreadsheet until June 30, and then look at starting a new one for the post July 1 ASA's if there is a need to determine the best bang for $/points.

Now, back to our regular programming...

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

I hate to enter any post in this thread apart from information on a confirmed booking, as it was intended. However, since I can't imagine that there will be any/many more posts in this particular thread I would like to say...

A huge "thank you" to Jessica for maintaining the spreadsheet.

So that this thread doesn't get overloaded with these messages perhaps we should just "Like" her post above this one to show our appreciation.

I booked one tonite for March 2015....in case it is needed for Plat re qualification. Why you might ask? And that is a very good Q.....
Took only 8 mins with "Barrie" who said he was familiar with it although he hadn't book many before....he said "only very high status FFers know about them and book them!":)
28 Mar | 14 Mar 15 | J | Syd-Bne-Tsv return | 48000 | $353.92 + no mention of credit card fee!

Y isn't great value, but half they legs don't have J, and the cash fares for the flights were pretty high.

She wasn't quite sure what I meant, put me on hold and then came back about 5 minutes later to do the booking. 'waved' the telephone booking fee because she had put me on hold (I didn't have to argue the point).

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

How many SCs?

Should be 80SCs

40 for SYD-BNE and 40 for BNE-TSV.

(on a side note, ouch the 350km~ between TSV and CNS makes or breaks the short and medium distance zones. FNQ did get screwed.)

Thanks CaviAck, I was hoping kpc was going to answer as a little positive reinforcement.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

The spreadsheet has been updated to this post.

Please use the following format:

Month booked | Month travelled | Cabin (Y/W/J or F) | Route | Points cost | Co-pay $^ | Classic co-pay $~ | Max points cost~ | SCs earned
e.g. Jan 14 | Apr 14 | J | MEL-SYD | 16,000 | $111.65 + CC fee | ? | ? | 40

^ Indicate if CC fee is included
~ If known

Please PM me any suggestions you have to improve it, to save this thread becoming distracted from its intended purpose.

This is the link to the Google Docs spreadsheet
which is able to be viewed by all (but not edited, to maintain consistency).

No other information is to be posted, please use the other threads for this, just keep this thread to factual information only*

Any discussion about ASAs can occur here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....rogram/has-anyone-had-success-call-51720.html

I have added a column for SC earned for bookings made from April 2014*. Please use the new Qantas SC calculator to ensure accuracy. After 30 June these bookings will not be possible, and there is plenty of discussion about this on AFF elsewhere.*

*This thread is not for any discussion about the changes. I will have no hesitation asking a moderator to delete any posts that are not specifically data related. You have been warned.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

6 Apr 14 | Mar 15 | J | BNE-HKG | SIN-HKG | 120,000 | $ 723.00 + $ 30 cc Fee | $ 507.04 | ? | 240

6 Apr 14 | Feb 15 | J | BNE-AKL | 72,000 | $ 433.47 + $ 30 cc Fee | $ 157.74 | ? | 160

Spoke to Cathy. Originally she told me it couldn't be done any more, but went away to check when I gently pushed. All up 41 minutes on the phone and she was VERY helpful in linking several of my Passenger Numbers with others flying in Y on the same flights. Good Experience all round.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Apr 14 | Apr 14 | J | MEL-CBR-MEL | 32,000 | $238.62 + $7 CC fee | $99.62 | 59,620 | 80

My second mASA, and probably my last, sadly. I think the CA was Craig: knew it backwards, done in four minutes for exactly the numbers already in the spreadsheet. I'm excited that this worked less than a week from the flight date, and so cheap. By comparison, flying MEL-CBR-MEL in Economy with Points + Pay on those flights would have cost 32,000pts + $246.80 for just 20(*) Status Credits. Unbelievable.
