Successful QF 'Bid Now Upgrades' data thread

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Just received an invitation BNE - SYD 3000 points (min) + $100 (min) each for a family of 4. Doubt we would get it even if I did put in :) Have updated the spreadsheet.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

How long b4 flight are you told if upgrade successful?

Edit: Upgrades will be confirmed 24 hours before the scheduled departure.

Is the above correct?

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

So mate got his upgrade came thru 24hrs early Mel-Bris 3000points and $180....worth it?
Its his first time in any business class so does he get the following:
Extra Status Credit(current bronze)
Extra bags allowance
Priority checkin
QF Lounge access only leaving not arriving?
Can he choose his window seat?
Ask to consume as much food and drink as they have throughout the 2hr flight?
Any thing else to be aware of?

Regards

Extra Status Credit(current bronze) - no, you get the points and status credits of the fare you booked
Extra bags allowance - yes, you get business class allowence
Priority checkin - yes, you can use the business class counters
QF Lounge access only leaving not arriving? - he'll get access to the business lounge in Melbourne but not in Brisbane
Can he choose his window seat? - yes, assuming one is available
Ask to consume as much food and drink as they have throughout the 2hr flight? - there will be a meal service and drinks will be plentiful if requested

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Attempted with the low-ball offer of 3000 points/$100 for Sydney to Melbourne QF419 - successful for 2 seats.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Was successful on Monday PER-BNE with the minimum bid of $105 and 4,000 points.

To cap it off, it was an A332 with the new J suites.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Add me to the list of declined last November, SYD-CNS minimum bid of $200 4000pts

What bid do you need to grab these upgrades?

Excellent to read some Upgrades are being accepted.

I understand you(sadly)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Wasn't going to bother until I realised it was suites - also wasn't expecting the bid to be successful

Was that from a Red-e-deal or a Flex ticket?

I have to agree - that's a steal.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Nice one, all I seem to get lately is offers on short hops at stupid minimums :( had one come through today for an ADL-MEL with a min of $125 and 3000. Not worth it for the 40 minutes or so air time, wish the offers would come through for the longer flights we take.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

The offers seem to be a little dumb. Received an offer to bid for an upgrade BNE to MEL next week. The problem - I pulled the trigger on the upgrade over 24 hours before the bid offer, so was already in U. (by 2 pax). Not prepared to even click on the link to see what the options are, as knowing the QF web expertise, it is likely to kill off my already confirmed upgrade.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

I'm pleased to report 2x Y -> J upgrades for SYD-ADL accepted for the minimum bid of 3k points + $180/pax at T-24

I'm looking forward to trying out J on the Qantaslink 717-200!

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

SYD-CBR, Y (flex) -> J, T-5 days, 3000pts + $95 for a "medium" chance at upgrade.

Since it was a flex fare, I requested a classic upgrade for 5000pts which was confirmed instantly.
