Yep the PH Rare. Nice drop. The Dim Sum were spectacular best I've had in ages.

In my suite now with a glass of Dom.

My mate has a spare ticket to the game, but unfortunately I'm stuck in BNE.

Just to torture myself, I had to look. It's still possible to get MEL-SIN-LHR in R/F on SQ218/318 leaving 0105 Friday on a Saver. I've have to let it slide unfortunately.

Have a great trip. Hopefully the flights and the game will be equally good!

I'm just back from 2 1/2 weeks and 8 games at RWC
At the Wallabies v England match. Sensational !!

Thanks for the heads up. I am actually after a longish stop over in FRA, hence the east coast. I will keep looking closer to release dates. Thanks.
I'm looking to do a similar trip next year around Sept/Oct. MEL/SYD - SIN - LAX & JFK - FRA - SIN - MEL/SYD, with a few stop overs, possibly Seoul/Santorini/Venice/Paris/Singapore, along the way to try and make this a sort of RTW trip. Don't know how long this trip will take but do you reckon it's do-able in 3 weeks? or would it be too rushed?

Hoping to get suites all the way if possible.

Does anyone know when the a380 is coming back to Melbourne next year? If it is coming back?

5 cities visited over 3 weeks - for me, it's fine. 3-5 days per city is generally do - able :)

5 cities in 3 weeks, as Alanslegal has said, is quite do-able. I have done 1-2 days per city, but as I am getting older I prefer to take my time to actually enjoy the places I visit, rather than using the visit to notch up the tally of places I have been. So yes, 3-5 days per city should be just about right I think... (bear in mind you need to factor in if you get tired after each city or get jet lag; I am lucky I don't get either :-) )

I prefer to make the most of a city, if I can, rather than rush through a city just to "notch up the tally". Would rather do a city properly and take the appropriate time and not need to come back for a while, than rush and feel the need to revisit since I missed out on so much.

Might have to just cut down the amount of cities, or just do over night stop overs in certain places, e.g. SIN/NRT, just to go into city and eat some delicious food.

Booked a first first KF redemption for September next year. I like a window seat so plan to pick 3A suite on A380 SYD SIN. Any advice on a good window seat for 777 300ER F cabin on the SIN AMS leg? Should be a refitted cabin by then I think.

quokka are you LHD or RHD? If LHD go 1A or call KF and ask for 2A - if RHD 1F/2F no diff - I always select back row in R (3) or F (2) cabin - are you sure you want window seat in R? If you choose 3C there is an excellent chance nobody will select 3D beside you - if they don't then you can get the 'double bed' to yourself (not exactly a double bed in true sense in that there is a ridge running down middle - crew will put extra padding on this for you but it will still be there)

Thanks CE, I am left handed, but don't plan to do any writing, so happy to just select 2F online for the 777-300ER.

Re: window vs centre seat on A380, you have given me something to think about. Possible double suite vs 3 windows and a guarantee of no neighbour... Either way will be fine I am sure. :)

Thanks everyone for your coughulative wisdom on the KF threads and elsewhere (esp velocity and cit1 prest1ge threads), feel v privileged to be able to sample some of the best seating in commercial aviation (will be aiming for EY J/F or CX J via AA miles on the return journey of this trip DUS-xx_-BNE).

LHD = Left Handed Drinker / RHD = Right Handed Drinker - if LHD then A or D seats for you - if RHD then C or F seats are the go.

Hi all,

Considering taking suites for the first time...FINALLY...but looking for a bit of consensus on an availability dilemma. Can get 1 pax to EU in suites but the the second pax will need to be on the waitlist. What are people's recommendations here?

Book the waitlist and call up every so often and hope for the best?

Or book the second pax in J and wait for the waitlist to clear, if at all?

Probably the latter, if you both want to guarantee you're going. If you've got plenty of points do one saver one standard.

We are pretty relaxed with a Saver and a Standard or flying on separate planes a few hours or a day apart. You have lots of choices but be wary of putting your relationship to the test by going Suites yourself and your partner in baggage.

Usually alittle more availability thru ZRH and CDG but only one plane per day. LHR more planes per day but sometimes less availability especially SQ321/322. FRA is usually booked out very quickly after release.

Rule of thumb when you see it book it and book on way trips not returns , it's easier to make changes

oh that was a funny one Quokka77, you made me choke on a cup of team. Writing! it's all about the drinking hand. LOL
