Wow, two F savers on some flights, that's delicious!!! :) I will now have to book something soon :)

BTW just flew KE F 388 ICN-LAX and it was mightily enjoyable. Love F on any 388 plane!!!!!!!

Yep SQ love playing with the equipment on the MEL route...

<snip>

Urgh, so not only does MEL lose one of its A380s, it also gets a 333 for the extra service. That sucks  I can see myself transiting SYD more often when flying SQ from now on.

Thanks for the info though.

I believe the SQ228 is the only A380 flight to remain in 2014 from MEL-SIN which is okay by me with the flight time and full service in the Suites.
.
While ok by you, it means that we are all competing for less capacity, and so that is never good

Get a Qantas JASA MEL-SYD and enjoy the Melbourne First Class lounge if you're a WP before heading off on SQ from SYD? ;)

Don't think Qantas will let you anywhere near the flounge on a domestic JASA..

Agree with you on that point.

Yes. I am just glad that my flight back from Frankfurt is n the "right flight". It could easily of been on what is now one of the less desirable planes.

The MEL-SIN route gets an amazing number of metal changes. I have has some Award bookings that I have lost track of the number of changer, but would be say 8 or more. Often the change causes my favoured reserved seats, to move to less desirable seats and more so as I normally have 3 or 4 J seats.
some changes can end up on better metals, sometimes not.

Prior to the newer Jets being opened up, it was a 50% chance of ending up on a better plane in the 380 or 77W (so I could not really grumble)....but now its is a 50% chance of ending up on a worse plane. So not always happy Jan ;)

That's right, I forgot that MEL-SYD (Int terminal) only works on Jetstar purchased flights. You can do BNE-SYD (Int terminal) JASAs though.

If this were possible I think most of my int routings would be ex-SYD, regardless of carrier :)

No fancy F lounge at BNE though, unfortunately :(

Finally, bagged a suite saver LHR-MEL
Mrs D staying on a few days to see relatives in UK so she will be slumming it in Cathay J !!!
Can't wait to spend 11 hours in TPR!!

That's a long time at TPR!

I spent ~3hrs at TG F and LH FCT last year and found that more than enough for a meal, a scotch and a massage!

Would love to try both. We will next year be flying from HKG-BKK with TG in the A380 in F. Wish the route was the other way around to experience the TG Royal First/Spa Lounge experience heading out.

You may be disappointed then. The food and alcohol is good including being able to get the chef to cook variations.

But apart from that, the TPR is nothing special...unless things have changed.

ie no massage etc..

It is nicer than the SilverKris Lounge, but just for the food and drink and that it is less crowded.

But 11 hours is a long time to spend there.

Advice gratefully noted, oz.
I have to confess my remarks were slightly tongue-in-cheek.
I am indeed looking forward to suites, TPR etc but will probably take the free Singapore bus tour and catch a few zzz's in the transit hotel.
Even an 11 hour massage if it was available is probably more than anyone can bear!

the private room

for F ticket holders (award and paid)

No F ticket = No admission

No guest allowed

I would not spend more than 2-3 hrs in there really.

Private, peaceful, elegant, reasonable foods (not 5-star by any definition) etc ... but still a leather lounge chair in the end
