Suites savers now available

I have been energized this morning to keep working on getting Kris points. I used to think I was "loaded" but with 12 names and Suites Savers coming along the idea "might as well" comes to mind. There I was thinking one Saver and one Standard was brilliant.
Perth Airport is still not A380 ready so we can only go J to Singapore and that only chews up about 27k of Kris points in Saver on the smaller plane.

Pretty good value at those rates I think. Is that medium-haul J?

Yes Perth is only 5 hours from Singapore.
i did get 2 Suites Savers for the English cricket at Lords.
We repeat the run in August so you might think I am trying to catch up to Tony Hancock.... His seven trips to Blighty in 2012 was amazing stuff.

If I ring up will I still get the 15% discount? Also is my understanding correct in that I would not have access to TPR due to not departing in F? Even if booked as an F award?
When I rang and tried to do the mixed redemption F/J to BNE they said No Discount. I will try another agent.

All F tix have access to TPR. The info about award seats not having entry is quite a few years old. I have had 3 visits on award tix and can say how wonderful it really is.

Had another look this morning and notice suite saver availability for the 16:45 MEL-SIN. Booked and $260ish in taxes.

Which actually work's better as I need to get to HKT and going to HKG would have made me back track. Not the absolute best use of points and no TPR but I've been fortunate enough to have been in TG F and LH FCT lounges before so am pretty lucky anyway.

Looking forward to it!

Have Suites bookings for July,August and October because I book too early so I had the first half of the year already set.
Yes the SQ caviar and champagne have to wait 6 months.

SQ are pulling one of the A380's off the MEL route once it goes to 4 x daily flights :(

That's disappointing :( So it'll be, what, 1 x A380 and 3 x 777? Any idea of the breakdown between 777-300 and 777-300ER on those 777 services?

Also, when does the change occur / what is the timing of the fourth daily flight?

Wasn't SQ running 3 A380 flights a day out of MEL at one stage?

0105, 1030 and 16:45.. something like that?

On a somewhat related note, just choose seat 3A for my flight. Seem's to be the winner for solo travellers.

Hummel I have answered this previously - are you a 'left handed drinker' or a 'right handed drinker'?

3A is 'left handed drinkers' Suite - indeed all A and D Suites are 'left handed drinkers' sets - C and F Suites are 'right handed drinkers' suites..

The moment you sit in the seat all will become totally obvious - C or F for me.

CruiserElite is correct.

Another pointer: are you comfortable using the remote with your non-dominant hand ?

For me, drinks could be handled by both hands but if the remote is on the 'opposite' side, I then have to transfer to my dominant right hand.

If you were like me, go for right handed suites (C or F).

Just a quirk on my part !

These really are first world problems aren't they!!

I'm a lefty but I drink with my right hand so therefore I should be sitting in C or F?

I chose 3A due to having 3 windows instead of the 2... perhaps this is the same on the otherside?

There is 2 other seats booked in the cabin so far. The first row of doubles.

For whatever reason 2C/D are always blocked when you go to Select Seats.

When I tried to Select Seat for last nights flt MEL-SIN 2C/D showing occupied - as was 3C/D - so I chose 3A - 7 pax total in Suites.

At check in I asked if 2C occupied - no Sir - ok move me from 3A to 2C - no problem Sir - just worth asking. Obviously if you rightie and like window seat - F seats for you - if you leftie - A seats.

I am sittimg in TPR in SIN now as I type this - just completed breakfast in the Dining Room - I was only pax in TPR when I arrived at 05:20 this morn from MEL - its now 07:45am here - but it's 21:45 in Rio - that is way past coughtail hour - better sign off and go get a champers.

Understood. Ill be sure to take a couple of pictures for the memory bank.

Are you on way to PVG? A shame SQ don't have arrivals access!

I saw the advertisement in the Financial Review magazine where a paying customer gets a limo in Singapre complete with a free room at the Raffles with breakfast included.
Mrscove already thought Suites were already a great cash proposition.

Yep SQ love playing with the equipment on the MEL route...

At the moment

SQ218 01:05 A380
SQ238 11:35 B777-300
SQ228 16:45 A380

From the 1st July it WAS going to be this

SQ207 SIN0735 – 1655MEL 333
SQ217 SIN0955 – 1915MEL 388
SQ227 SIN2100 – 0620+1MEL 388
SQ237 SIN2355 – 0915+1MEL 773

SQ218 MEL0005 – 0605SIN 388
SQ238 MEL1025 – 1615SIN 773
SQ228 MEL1545 – 2145SIN 388
SQ208 MEL1810 – 0005+1SIN 333

However it was then changed a week or so later to
SQ207 SIN0735 – 1655MEL 333
SQ217 SIN0955 – 1915MEL 77W
SQ227 SIN2100 – 0620+1MEL 388
SQ237 SIN2355 – 0915+1MEL 773

SQ218 MEL0005 – 0605SIN 77W
SQ238 MEL1025 – 1615SIN 773
SQ228 MEL1545 – 2145SIN 388
SQ208 MEL1810 – 0005+1SIN 333

Yes that promotion is correct. And I believe they have changed it so it is applicable in a one way direction. You also have a choice of 3 other Hotels to choose from like Ritz Carlton, etc.

I believe the SQ228 is the only A380 flight to remain in 2014 from MEL-SIN which is okay by me with the flight time and full service in the Suites.
