Well, you'll certainly be the favourite child for a while. :D

:)

Sorted the hotels out yet for SIN & HKG ?

SIN- Wanted to stay at the The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, but will be staying at The Fullerton Bay in Singapore

HKG- No question about it, staying at The Four Seasons Hong Kong. Really looking forward to that one :)

From there its BKK, AMM, CAI, DXB, then home. A big trip.

Peninsula in BKK is really good.....we've stayed around a dozen times & rate it very highly. The free boat shuttles really enhances a stay in BKK.

It's priced very favourably to Pen's in other cities & they always have great offers.

Thanks Amaroo. I'm leaning toward to the MO for BKK as I've always wanted to stay there (my brother whom is joining us as a Revenue SQ F passenger also wants to stay at the MO) but my parents are more than happy to just stay at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel Bangkok, where they've stayed before. We'll see what eventuates.

Do you think for syd-sin vv allows enough time to enjoy suites? Or is J more than enough for this length of flight?

I'd second Cruiser's opinion too - definitely enough time to enjoy, as long as its a daytime flight. You get two meals (one full and one light (relatively - still a lot of food!!)), enough time for a movie or a nap in between, and 6-7 hours is plenty to drink at least a bottle of Krug ;-)

I prefer both. The difficult situation in Suites is which one to start off with and which one to finish off with.
We have 4 Suites flights coming up and I read all the posts in this thread.
Yes Suites are an incredible bargain if you are a Kris Flyer member.
We have plenty of points with SQ and the 3 year time clock has started ticking so it is definitely Suites time for our group of nominees.
Mrscove is a non drinker and doesn't like shellfish so it is a little bit wasted on her. She does enjoy a window Suite for her sleep.

Do you guys prefer Krug or Dom? :)

Much, much prefer Krug personally. It's hard to say you "don't like" Dom, but there's a number of much cheaper champagnes that I like more than it. My overall favourite F champagne is still QF's Taittinger Comte de Champagne Blanc de Blancs though.

On a number of occasions I have asked cabin crew in Suites / F for their experience re gender preference Dom or Krug.

General response 80% females will choose Dom - 80% males will choose Krug - just out of interest pose the question yourselve when next on board.

FTR - Krug myself - and copious ammounts of it.

Over on FT there is a very entertaining TR on this very subject. For those that haven't seen it 8 bottles of Dom from LAX-BKK on SQ in F - FlyerTalk Forums

No preference re Krug or Dom, lean slightly towards Krug but will happily partake in either. Taittinger CDC or Bolly La Grande Annee 2002 still rule our cellars.

OH is a Dom person. Wonder what the stats say about his taste in champagne. ;)

Not a fan of Dom 2003 at all however.

[Only slightly OT, as my flights were not Awards, alas - but they were good value sale fares.]
Have just completed a trip that included SQ Suites MEL-SIN, SIN-CDG, CDG-SIN, and SIN-MEL.
My favourite part of each was the opening question (with only minor variations):
"Ma'am, would you prefer Dom Perignon 2003 or Krug?"

Answer usually along the lines of "Yes, please."

My choice was invariably to begin with the DP as a pre-flight and post-take off pleasure, then to move on to the Krug with food. My partner preferred to begin as he meant to go, and stuck with the Krug, until switching to a tasting of the gems of the wine list matched to specific dishes.

Cove:
Maybe the offer would have come without prompting, had I not read your reports of one suite for relaxing, one for sleeping. However, armed with your adventure stories, I was alert to any opportunities. Delighted to say that we had this super-indulgence on each of the four individual flights. :p
Made the Champagne even more enjoyable, when sipped in several suites. Thanks so much for the tip! :p

I usually try both, at different times of the flight.
