Its never hard to justify it in front of an audience who are a bunch of frequent flyers and will support your decision to fly Suites just "because you can" ;)

Maybe it's justifying to myself. :D

I have told the lady I have a bunch of KF miles expiring soon that I need to use otherwise they'll go to waste... wonder if she bought it. :D

I am VERY excited. I just booked a First Saver trip in a suite from SYD to CDG. Anyone got any suite preferences?

The down side is I have to wait until Dec 2013 to fly. :D

Pw are you left handed or right handed? Clarification - would you prefer to hold your Krug or Dom in your left or right hand?

Are you window seat addicted?

This had me laughing. I love how people on this site think in a very unique way.

I am right-handed and prefer to hold my glass in the same hand.

Does this mean I want a suite with my right hand closest to the suite entry door? LOL

Ok now we are starting to workshop this - seat selection whilst not an exact science is indeed an endeavour that deserves ultimate attention.

Now please view seat map below:

And then please check pic - this is 3C - I would contend that a right handed person would be much more suited here:

As opposed to what I would contend to be a left handed Suite 3A:

Now the reason I asked are you 'Window Addicted' is that you can indeed get a right handed Suite in the F row - But taking C or D gives you first digs on the adjoining Suite as per cove's suggestion 1st Suite play / 2nd Suite sleep - get the drift?

Clearly all depends on loadings - but my extensive experience so far (2 sectors - that makes me an expert in AFF speak) is that cabin crew more than happy to accomodate you in this area if circumstances permit.

All is clear now, Master.

I am not window addicted. I am excited to have the suite that I never even thought of the potential of sleep/play suites.

And as for my seat assumption, I thought sitting with the door on my right would make it easier to hold out my hand for multiple drinks - LOL. I did not see the "drink holders". ;-)

Certainly not a case of Master / Pupil - just more than happy to help anybody.

I was in 3C MEL-SIN and 2C SIN-MEL - both perfect IMHO - I have 6 sectors booked in Suites next year - intend to progressively make sure I have 3C booked on all sectors if possible,

It only seems fair to go for 2 Suites each if they are not in use. Six passengers is ideal for 12 Suites. Just be perfectly behaved and the wow factor will delight you if you score two each.
Then both champagnes plus the French red to get you sleepy.
I feel Saver Suites are magic and have made our London run seem to be shorter in duration

And very much appreciated. Thank you.

Edited to add: 3C now selected on both sectors.
Well done - please report back - feel free to adjudicate on my judgement - you will not insult me if you crow 'clown' from the rooftops.

Hey try to get pics - it is so damn difficult - stuff just keeps getting in the way.

Me too! Can't wait. I think I'm flying one of the longest one-way routes SQ have suites available on too - JFK-xFRA-xSIN-MEL.

Anyone got any suite preferences?

Sounds like you've got this sorted, but for the reference of others I've read that if you like window seats then 3A is the pick - the most private and quietest of the lot.

With all this discussion of using two Suites in a lightly loaded cabin, has any solo traveller ever been able to get one window Suite for "play" and two middle suites made up as a double bed for sleeping? I'm definitely going to ask for that if I happen to end up in a very lightly loaded cabin, just so I can say I've slept in a proper double bed at 35,000 feet :D

O the perils of artistic license.
It's not a proper double bed.
It's 2 narrowish singles side by side, with a wretched hard divider in between.

Oh, damn you SQ, ruining my fun! Just looked at some pics and I see what you mean. I wonder if I could stuff some padding on top of the divider so I could still have my claim to fame?

Great news for you too! You are definitely doing a long trip. Plenty of time for you to play around in the suite.

I still haven't figured out the back end of my itinerary so there is still the chance I may try and get another suite. Although, more than likely, I would opt for J and save some points since I fall into the frequent spender category.

Are you guys travelling solo? Or did you get 2 X F savers?

I am travelling solo.

I just tried another booking for the same day and it's now showing as waitlist for F Savers.

I noticed that the following day is now open for bookings as well and F Savers are waitlist only again. I am not sure if someone has already snapped it up or there are no Savers because it's a Friday?

After 8 bookings for two I think there is one Saver Suite per flight so if there are say 3 flights per day you can either split up for those flights or do one in Saver and one in Standard points to be together.
The reason I think there is only one Saver is there are never two seats offered and when you book one at a time it goes wait list on that flight after you book the first seat.
I don't wait list as I want certainty on the big flights.
Based on what I have been doing I have decided to go hard at making the points or should I say " nothing has changed".
By the way I saw school holiday periods were available so my niece will score some more wow factor.

Hi Cove,

Say I need 3 F seats, myself, wife and a child. It's pretty much impossible right? Since I need 1 adult to travel with the child and unless I get 1 F saver and 1 F standard. Or fork out $10K :) I don't mind flying on a different flight on the day but with the child , an adult will need to accompany...

Out of Sydney you might split into a two and a single and travel on the same day but a few hours apart.
So you get a Saver for the single and then a Saver and a Standard on the other. Always book the Saver first after you see there is also a Standard points flight showing as available.
