We may cross paths on the 23rd as I depart then, I will be in the vicinity of the TPR hopefully consuming some Verve LGD between 21.25 and 23.10 SIN time . When are you there? Epernay is a great pitstop on the way back from the snow. Enjoy

Sorry will be coming in on SQ335 arriving 06.35 on 24/1/15 then SQ211 from there. Leave some VLGD for me in TPR

Quick shoutout to Cove and Cruiser Elite. Sitting in TPR on my first suites run SYD-SIN-CDG. Big thanks for all the inspiration and guidance on booking these flights. I fear you have ruined my life as mrs and jr aaronjames may never fly anything but suites again. Cest la vie... If i must travel suites to keep them smiling then such is life! Photos to follow, especially as i could not find any infant/bassinet suites photos on AFF i am happy to share for fellow travelers! P.s. the Krug on board and the hamburger in TPR is delicious!

There were only 3 in 12 suites heading for LHR the other afternoon Aaron so I am really pleased you are now as warped as our family. The concept of going back is quite cruel so just be ready with a firm " no thanks".
An amazing product for Saver or even Standard miles is a real winner when you combine it with TPR, Krug , caviar with icy vodka and more.

I was R SIN-PEK on Dec 15 - first time I have ever seen R virtually full - only 1 spare Suite and that was 3D right beside me. Indeed one family mum, dad and 3 kids sub 10 I would say. With 08:45 dep amazing how many pax had beds made up and slept - flt was only 5:30hrs - just the 'kids' and yours truly stayed upright.

Brunch served - which is such a great change from the previous full breakfast offered 12mths or so back - and whilst not full lunch service including caviar etc it was superb - crew came and asked what time I wanted to eat and as I had eggs beno and VCLGD at 7am requested late as poss - was served at 12:30 for 14:30 arrival - how is that for service?

In fact the experience I had F MEL-SIN on 15th then o/n then SIN-PEK on 26th was just spectacular experience - meals and service as good as I have ever exp. And as for the RWT - OMG that is a superb wine. But here is the thing - ret PVG-SIN they did not load any - they offered St Hallet Blackwell instead - simply not in same league - I damn near cried.

Just a general q - do you guys want me to scan and post the menus / wine offerings from some of these flts? I don't want to waste time and bandwidth if little interest.

Reading all this is making me jealous! Next Suites experience is not until April. Need to start planning for a Europe visit in October. I just need to work out which flights into Europe have Suites ;)

Hopefully the crew have been great with jr aaronjames. We have flown Suites with the Master. Didn't use the bassinet as he is happier sleeping with me. The crew came and took him so the gentleman and I could eat our breakfast in peace! Winning! Happy to compare notes regarding infant travel. We have flown with him at the pointy end with a few airlines - it's the best way to travel :)

CruiserElite

As a habitual suite dweller, are you still into BTC or just happy to "go with the flow" ?

My next suite from CDG in a week's time, I opt for option #2 just for the 'surprise' element.

Thoughts ?

Oooohh that is a potential new thread - always interested to hear fellow travelers thoughts on which BTC meals are worth ordering. I have only had the Lobster Thermidor so far.

Unfortunately I am not quite such a frequent Suite traveller now that 380 off MEL route but anyway one can never get enough of SQ R/F can you? But rarely now do I BTC - I find SQ food offerings in F/R or even J more than adequate. I am also allergic to crustaceans so the Lobster Thermidor which stands out like a beacon in BTC IMHO is not a choice I can make. But I would advise any pax flying R/F to do just that if they are Lobster lovers.

Most flts to China I am on 218 arr Sin ~06:00 then 802 to PEK 08:45 - I look fwd to the eggs beno and VCLGD in TPR but then they would offer you another breakfast on 802 - this flt is one of the times I BTC - and if flt slated to offer breakfast rather than brunch then BTC offerings much narrower - lately it's been brunch which is much better - just ask them serve you late as poss - 802 arr into PEK 14:40 or so.

Long story short - totally individual choice - does that help?

Would love to see photos of the bassinet, got a first time Suites Frankfurt to Sydney via Singapore coming up with the MRS and our 10 month old

'... Variety is the spice of life ...'

I guess after 2-4 times you'd get 'enough' of the Thermidor ?

I did.

I lean towards selecting something that's 'original' to the point of departure, say Loue chicken from Paris or Nasi lemak from SIN...

http://www.toomanychefs.com/archives/001791.php

But this is obviously a personal choice issue. There is no right or wrong.

You get enough of the Thermidor if you don't actually like Thermidor. I love crustaceans including lobster bit really can't understand the idea of smothering a quite delicate flavoured with cheese and mushrooms, what a waste.

I'm with you. Thermidor would be one of my least favourite ways of having lobster/crayfish.

Here goes.

Been a while since my last suite/F jorney on SQ.

We are SYD/SIN/CDG in F on SQ 212 to SIN then R (Suites to CDG)

One of the busiest days of the year to travel 2/1/15!!

Dropped by the QF F lounge to say hi to my many friends on the staff there. David, Thomas Marie, Anna.

They guested my in as a VIP.

I tried the Tattinger and my daughter the Moet Rose.

Eggs benedict great as usual.

Then down to check the SG F lounge.

What a dissappointment compared to TPR

Will add photos on plane then post in SIN but non vintage Moet and scrappy food.

Pretty poor for F and especially for SG, don't rush to spend time in this lounge.

Anyway. Full of hope for a great Trip in 777ER ( have only done suites before ), then picking up suites to CDG

Off to some Krug and caviar.

Happy 2015 everyone ;)

OK so here's the TR from SYD to SIN.

SQ F lounge a major let down so don't stay there any longer than necessary, nothing like QF F lounge ( interenet wasn't even working)
IMG_8363.jpgIMG_8364.jpg

Didn't try the wines a bit too early at 8.00am

Then the 777 SYD/SIn on SQ 212 was the older F product.

Plenty of Krug and then the Bordeaux follwed by RWT

Was in 1 F so found seat didn't recline just far enough to chill watching the movie so had to ask crew to make into a bed and add pillows.

A bit stupid I thought.

Suites have no problem here!!

Then discovered why not to sit in row 1 on these aircraft.

The back of the seat shell has a large indent which means at 5' 10'' you need to lie on the angle for a full stretch

Now that was disappointing!

Definately choose row 2 but I understand not anissue on new F prodcut on 777 ER's

But could not fault the crew and service nor food.

unfortunately no caviar on this leg ;((, but hey the champs and red were hard to beat !

Now in TPR and will have time to scoot into town before the midnight SQ336 to CDG.

They are still serving VCLGD 2004 but I'm a bit Champed out so have moved to The Chateau Pichon Longeville from Paulliac 2007 which is awesome, better than the red on the plane

Me thinks a shower to freshen up then a taxi to town!

More to come

;)
