He's guested up from J to sit for dinner opposite Cove ;)

(small seat in picture-only for non vintage J bubbles)

I go for a Suites ride in a few days time and I don't have to pick up the hire car until the following day. I will take a window seat for sleeping and with a bit of luck I may get the second Suite for dining and movies if the crowds are not on board to Los Angeles from Singapore.

I'm suffering from being decisevely indecisive.

I was able to book QF F SYD - LAX for next October. My end point is NYC

I can see SQ has a SYD - NYC suites saver available a day earlier so I'd get to NYC around the same time

Tell me I'm crazy not to go the SQ suites route....

Assuming taxes are about the same and you dont mind the extra time go SG any day

You will miss the QF F lounge but SG have TPDR so you still get that half way

Points maybe a bit cheaper too on SG if booked online.

But the real decider for me is the choice of Dom and & Krug.

Lowly QF only have Dom!!

SQ taxes are steep - over $800 but then QF is over $500 and that's only to LAX. Adding another flight, probably in whY would make them similar, and SQ charge less point sot get me to NYC.

I've just always wanted to try the QF F lounge. I seem to recall reading in FRA they let you check out the LH Ambassador lounge??

Many options to get into F lounge, guest invite travelling oneworld etc etc.

For TPDR you have to get to SIN and hold an F boarding pass.

Easy decision

I'm just about to bit eth ebullet on a SYD - JFk F award. Only issue is the SYD - SIn segment is on the mornign flight which means a near 10 hour wait in SIN.

What are my chances like if I call them up a month before the flight to see if they could move me to one of the later flights to cut down on the wait time?

Waitlist the flights (by single sector that you want to change to SYD?SIN- you need the necessary points in account to do this ) then book your Saver flights.

that way you know you are going and maybe get the confirmed better connections closer to departure date.

Its easy to fill in say 6-7 hours in Singapore and get back to TPDR for a shower and rest before moving on!!

OK so I rode the big bird on its last flt ex MEL last Mon 27th - was absolutely floored to discover that no crew on board were aware that was last flt ex MEL until next Sept - seriously none of them aware.

Hey Cruiser
heard a rumour that they are serving Penfolds RWT shiraz in suites/first. Care to comment or draining the Krug supplies occupy too much time?;)

Decided to give up my QF F to LAX and booked SQ F to JFK.

Saves swapping to another plane at LAX and the difference in YQ prob equals a Y fare, and I know I'd much rather be in a squite all the way.

Only issue is I'll be slumming it on the 777-300 at 8am on the way to Singapore.

Anyone had luck calling a month or so before the flight and getting moved to a later one? I'd prefer to cut down the near 10 hour wait. If TPR had some cabanas ala CX Wing First in HK it wouldn't be so bad.

Worse comes to worse I'll hope at least one friend there has some free time to catch up for a coffee, otherwise I'll just have to force myself to do an extensive sampling in TPR and get a budget room at the transit hotel

Worst case is 10 hours is plenty of time to go into town to enjoy some real street/hawker centre food, or of course the popular chilli/pepper crab at any of the larger restaurants.

And since Singapore weather makes people very thirsty, drinks on top of Marina Bay Sands at sunset would be perfect.

Jeffrey is there a later flt with better timing for you? If YES - waitlist it - if it clears then call KF call ctr and they will amend original booking for you - easy - done it dozens of times - OR - you can also call them now and ask them to add the waitlist to your original booking which they will do - 6 of one / half doz the other.

Just about to board my LHR-SIN suites trip then f SIN-MEL. In the relatively new T2 at LHR, but no silver Kris lounge, which is a major bummer, got a pass to plaza premium lounge, and it's starting to get really full with business travellers. Was hoping the silver Kris would be up and running by now.

I asked about TPR invitation at check in, and they said they had none for me and that cabin crew will have them? Is that possible? Anyways, heard them saying they got 3 invites for other passengers on another flight but no memo to give me the invite on their system. They ran out of suites boarding passes so got a plain white one with first written on it instead of suites. Only good thing going here is they have buggy service from the lounge to the gate.

Gotta drive home from Mel, so must make the most of the Dom LHR- SIN.

Taxi/uber it home and soak up the krug..

My car is at a relatives house close to the airport. :( didn't get to use the suite airbdrige as doors were closed and no one there to guide us through or open the door so I assumed it was closed. Once on the plane I see it was open.

The lounge to gate is 15 min walk, lucky for the buggy service.
