Can you really have too much lobster in Suites? I had Lobster with caviar appetizer, then Boston Lobster Thermidor, then poached eggs with hollandaise and lobster meat. The appetiser was nice, the thermidor was ok, not great, and lobster with eggs was overcooked. My SIN-CDG leg was weird in terms of meal times. Flew out at 12am for a 14hr flight. While most people had supper as soon as we leveled out then off to sleep, I stayed up for few hours and had supper at 2am then slept at 4am. woke up after about 6hrs and had breakfast (at which it was 5am in paris and landed at 7am. The A380 on the SIN-MEL flight (SQ334) had the older interior. Not as nice as the new one.

Do people take the Givenchy blankets? or is that a no-no?

I think I am going to run out of room in my luggage collecting 8 sets (two for the missus and I and on 4 sectors) of PJ's and teddy bears.

The bathrooms seem bit average, only tiny bit bigger than normal toilets.

IMHO the only way to address an extended flt / significant time zone change is to once onboard imm structure your flt activities based on dest arr time - count backwards to determine meal / sleep times - always plan ahead. I have not as yet exp refurb R so hope you enjoyed.

NEVER - I have 4 I think. It also pays to pack into h/l one of those micro fold up bags to cart the ever mounting supply pjs and amen kits. When we arrived DUB in July we had 4 pcs pjs after MEL-SIN-LHR so we wandered down to local church who had a homeless charity that they oversaw and we handed them over so they could distribute to some who could really use them.

They are twice size of QF 380 / prolly 1/8th size TG 380 - still large enough for us larger types to change in.

The refurbed R I had was on SQ228.

Wow so generous of you. Guess I have to pack nothing into my carry on to fit that much or maybe bring some space bags on.

If only SQ had that or EK's bathroom.

+1

At least I try to do so !

Whether it is successful is another matter altogether, as the body has a mind of its own.

Can you post a photo or link of one?
You don't need a link - go into any of those $2 shops and ask for a bag that rolls up to nothing - they are everywhere. Opened out they are bigger than a large supermarket plastic bag - many different types and sizes available.

Crikey - who helps some of you guys to tie your shoe laces each morning? $2 bag rolled up - see the size beside iPhone 5:

And opened out flat - would easily accom 4 x SQ PJs and 4 x SQ amen packs:

Again available from any $2 shop - many sizes, shapes and designs available - made from 'rip stop nylon' my technies tell me.

Where do you find a vac on the plane, even in F, to make that work ?
They make a travel version that works when you squash it, no vac needed. Anyway do as Cruiser says and buy the el-cheapo nylon carry bag .
Yes, this, it's a one way valve system. Basically chuck whatever you want to flatten, soft fabric materials only (e.g. clothes, towels, Givenchy blankets & PJs), then seal it up like a ziploc bag, then sit on it or push it down to squeeze all the air out. This wil give you heaps more space to take more PJs/blankets home.

Used heaps of these on our trip to USA and maxed out our luggage limits of 2x32kg check in and 2 carry on per pax.

Managed to book 2 x First/Suites Savers on MEL-SIN-JFK next year as part of my 30th bday trip. I am in shock that availability popped up on the first date I tried as I thought 2 x Suites to America would be like hunting for the proverbial needle in a haystack.
"Only" First on the MEL-SIN leg on SQ228 operated by the 77W rather than flying up from SYD on the earlier SQ232 on the 380 as I'm not keen to stretch out an already very long itinerary. But figured we'd be happy with 21 hours of Suites on the SQ26 and a grand total of 31 hours of Krug/VCLGD across both legs/TPR. :D

I had to stretch out my trip by one week to get double suites from ex-MEL, but it was worth it. Suites made the Mel-SIN journey so much quicker.

Ever noticed how some dudes think they own a Suite just cause they have ridden the big bird a number of times?

Case in point that I noticed last 380 flt ex MEL on Oct 27:

You know you've been spoilt by suites when the last part of your trip is in J and it feels so cramped. Thanks to Cove and AFF we've had the opportunity of knowing just how small those business class seats can feel. (Tongue in cheek)
