There are 4 of us travelling in Suites from SYD-Sin in late February, just check the seat map and it seems that out of the 12 seats only 1 is now empty. There goes my dream of having the whole cabin to ourselves :)

If it stays that way Spizz just ask sweetly and grab the spare Suite for either dining or sleeping if you want two.

Checked on the website or the app. The app often reads as the cabin full but the reality is often different.

ever had a solo suites trip cruiser?
No never solo Suites - several times solo F. On the SIN-PEK/PEK-SIN route nothing unusual about seeing 1 or 2 pax selected seats but reality will have R cabin virtually full. Again book 3C early and extra good chance 3D will remain vacant - 2 Suites will always beat 1 Suite.

that would be very strange to share the middle seats with a stranger, despite the partition!

usually op-ups, crew?

No I have NEVER been in 3C with a stranger in 3D - NEVER. And I always sit in 2C in F - RARELY and bu RARELY I mean like only 1 or 2 times out of many many F flts have I had a stranger sitting in 3D.

Hi everyone,

I am sure it's been written before, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.... How does one book a Suite? I have tried on the SQ website, but everytime i try to do a dummy booking - the latest being MEL-BKI - it always pushes me back to Business, saying the F cabin is unavailable.

I know that some of you have contact with a SQ rep, but I don't want to lose out on the 15% discount in points.

Any help is appreciated.

Reg.

Reggis Suites are the First Class product on the A380 - the A380 does not fly Singapore-Kota Kinabalu route - indeed this is serviced by Silk Air which does not have any A380s in it's fleet.

When you try to do a booking online if you select a cabin class that is not available on that route the web site will give you an error message saying that cabin class not available and will default down to the highest cabin class offered on that route - ie no First Class on SIN-BKI which is actually operated by Silk Air (MI) and not Singapore Airlines (SQ).

Sorry, I should have clarified...

I understand the SIN-BKI will be via Silk Air, I was referring to the MEL-SIN leg. I would have thought that the system would be smart enough to understand that it would be a downgrade to J in the case of booking F. Or is the booking system not that intuitive?

OK so you are looking to book mixed class redemption right? Suite from SYD-SIN then MI J SIN-BKI right? No this cannot be done online - you need to call KF. Easy process - call the SYD number 02 9350 0203 and it defaults straight through to SQ/KF call ctr in SIN.

They will still honour the 15% disc - it will cost you 75K KF pts minus 15% - for mixed class rdpts full journey is priced at rate for highest cabin rate on any included sector. And it will give you access to TPR in SIN - go for it - enjoy.

Thanks for your help Cruiser, very much appreciated.

From the website. Though 2C & 2D could just appear as taken as it does on most seat maps for Suites. Either way I hope that Singapore service doesn't suffer which I assume it won't.

Spizz 2C& 2D are bassinet Suites and are always blocked for online selection - if you are a couple and wanting to utilise them just call KF and request - but bear in mind if indeed bassinet Suite is reqd on day of travel you will be requested to move.

No need to sweat the numbers - service will not be impacted.

I have a dilemma...

(Context)

My BOD-MXP (Separate Award) MXP-BKK-MEL (LM Redemption) and with separate MEL-PER return leg brings me back into work one day late so I need to re-look at options, otherwise I will rebook BOD-IST-KUL and buy a revenue ticket KUL-PER

(Dilemma)

I'm toying with SQ F (AMS-SIN-PER) @ 100k each (Before discount) with F only available on the AMS-SIN leg...

Now my other option is to go CDG-SIN-PER @ 115k each (Before discount) again with only R available on the CDG-SIN leg..

The question is what should I do? Is going on SQ Suites ex CDG where there isn't any decent ground service for R pax and pay extra 30k miles for 2 people.... or go ex AMS in 77W?

What you should do is what YOU WANT to do. Have you flown R before? If NO - how badly do you want to experience Suites? How highly do you value the extra pts reqd? To me it's a no brainer - R over F any day - ground service no biggie - but again only you can make this decision vitagen.

I haven't flown SQ F/R before... I got the points so might be good treat for SWMBO

So will be a good experience either way in F or R....

I'm not Cruiser, but on a revenue ticket before Suite Savers were introduced, I was the only passenger in Suites SYD-SIN then SIN-ZRH.

On both flights I had booked 2A, then they proactively made up a double bed for me in the middle. I felt like a Saudi prince in my private A380!!
