Suites savers now available

I'm not Cruiser, but on a revenue ticket before Suite Savers were introduced, I was the only passenger in Suites SYD-SIN then SIN-ZRH.

On both flights I had booked 2A, then they proactively made up a double bed for me in the middle. I felt like a Saudi prince in my private A380!!
They made up 2C and 2D for you? Several times I have had 3C and 3D double bed as no adjoining pax in 3D - but the divider down the middle can feel a little uncomfortable - but jeez what 'A Great Way To Fly' or rather 'A Great Way To Sleep'!

It was row two. The divider is a little uncomfortable but I definitely didn't have anything to complain about :-)

On our flight SIN-CDG a couple of weeks ago the only people in the cabin were me and mrs and jr aaronjames! We had the entire cabin to ourselves!

We had 2C/D made up as a bed and play area, 2A made up as a bed for movies, 3D made up as a bed and play mat for jr while 3C was made up as our dining table!

It was like our own private jet and the FA's were absolutely outstanding! Dining in demand, drinks waiting when you wake up after a nap, playing with jr while we ate... it was bliss!

THAT is AWESOME!!!

I'm heading out on my odyssey early next month.
SYD-SIN-NRT-LAX and return a week later
After one previous experience of suites on an all-too-short jaunt to SIN last year I'm really looking forward to it.

By the way, if you want to know the meaning of life - check out CruiserElite's signature in his posts.

But since I'm here posting I'll ask a question.
I have 15 hours in SIN going up (17:25 until 9:20 the following morning), and 17 hours coming back (03:25 [uggh] until 20:40)
Does anyone have any experience of the transit hotels, and for a layover that long do they expect me to collect my baggage and re-check it?
Any other layover suggestions are gratefully received.
I'll be doing a trip report (hopefully as I go) and will also report back on what it's like to get too much of a good thing.
Regards,
Peter

Pgsdiver all I do is go to the Crowne Plaza which is a short walk. Have enough clothing in your hand luggage for the next day and don't bother with picking up your main luggage....just have it checked thru to LAX from SYD.
i don't do humidity so I turn on the a/c and run a bath to relax.
It costs a bit but when you will board you will be quite relaxed. Make sure you have deodorant as you will battle to find it anywhere. The rest is there.

1725-0920+1 is plenty of time to head into town, to meet up with friends for for dinner and a drink around Marina Bay. I'd even suggest staying around in town if the Crowne Plaza Airport is expensive that night. Taxi to/from airport is relatively cheap and in the morning, leaving the hotel to airport around 6am will encounter very little traffic and you will be there in no time.

0325-2040, I'd be tempted to suggest staying at one of those paid airside transit hotels. Pay for 6-8 hours so you can sleep from 0400-1200. Should cost less than 100SGD however for that price, the lodgings will feel very dormitory-like. Could easily head into the City once again.

There's lots of suggestions around for what to do in Singapore during long'ish transits, however drinking, eating and meeting people will easily fill in your time there.

Just stay in TPR!
Unfortunately staying in TPR is not an option as it closes each night when last pax leaves to catch last flt out that night and reopens at 6am.

pg are you travelling alone? As a couple? As others have posted plenty options depending on your circumstances and budget.

Can you sleep in the Silver Kris F/J lounge?

I'm a fan of lounges but no way I'd be spending more than 4 hours in a lounge especially when Singapore Central is easy to get to from the airport.

However in answer to your question (in SilverKris J) I've seen people asleep in there before but not something I'd be doing in a hurry, it can get very crowed when the european departures start to arrive on their inbound.

Totally agree. Anything more than 4 hours is too much in any lounge, I might make an exception for the FCT though but that's if I'm eating, drinking and smoking cigars with good company.

Yep I managed to do ~6 hours there...with my gf (now wife) spending 2 hours in the bath.. while I spent 2 hours at the bar. Worked for us!:D

Can you sleep in the Silver Kris F/J lounge?
Yes you can - way down far end of T3 SKL there are some couches where you can stretch out and sleep - lounge staff will even bring you a blanket. However I would never do this - Ambassador short time hotel has quite comfortable rooms for S$80 for 6hrs - pro rata beyond that - rooms are self contained with TV and shower and bed which is not the softest but it is a bed - what more could you want?

Last time I stayed in ambassador lounge couldn't sleep as they were doing renovations at 1am in the morning. It took 4 calls and 90 mins for them to stop!

I was in the LH FCT last week, it's great, but I still don't need to be in there for more than four hours lol :D

Thinking of booking my partner and I in First/Suites from PVG-MEL using KF points as a surprise. J is 72.5k KF while F is only 92.5 KF. There is A380 from PVG-SIN available and then from SIN-MEL both 77W and 777-300 are available in F. I only know the difference between the J seating on these two 777 variants (significant) - is there much difference between the F experience? I know the A380 F is significantly better but there's no A380s to MEL and only waitlist to SYD.

By the way, when searching for award flights on the KF website, does this already apply the 15% online discount or is it applied later?

Anything else I should be wary of? I've never redeemed KF before!

15% discount is applied when you click "display cost" at the bottom right of the page.

Not sure about the different F products though. I'm guessing 77W is probably better???
