Cruiser that welcome seems to be almost standard in SIN suites. Never ceases to amaze me how great the service is. Sitting in tpr writing this ready to go on SQ12 to LAX via NRT. My colleagues think I'm mad taking the long way round. ...... poor ignorant fools!

Indeed - you chose the quickest, simplest and most sensible route:

Or you could have gone the alternative route:

Either way makes total sense to me.

Only the first makes sense. The 2nd you would have to do without Suites from JKF-LAX so makes less sense :)

We are going to try 2A and 3A instead of our usual 3A and 4A.
I think the Krug will be just as nice in that forward seat.

How would you fill in that leg? UA F?
I meant in the context of *A as I assumed Cruiser was referring to a SQ *A redemption with that last leg with a *A partner thrown in? Or have I misinterpreted?

Cruiser. If I'd known I could have had even longer in their charming company I would have. Although the forgiveness of Mrs Pgsdiver only extends so far.
Am now sitting in 3C ready for LAX-NRT leg after 8 data in Las Vegas.
The contrast between the brash in-your-face (but admittedly fast & efficient) service in the US & Vegas in particular, it is indeed like chiming home to hear the soft voice of a Singapore girl asking if there's anything else she can do for me.
Forgive me if I'm coming over all emotional now.........
I'm going to sit back, relax and enjoy my flight.
Regards,
Peter

A few weeks ago there was plenty of availability in R from SYD to FRA for the dates I was interested in (Sep/Oct). Now the only availability is "waitlist". What are people's experiences with wait listing? What are the chances of them coming through?

SIN-FRA / FRA-SIN is a popular route - you may get lucky - waitlist as many flts as might possibly suit you - check availability ZRH also if poss for you to reposition there as ZRH often has more availability - good luck whichever way you proceed.

I will be canceling one such trip (2 pax) in the next month or so. You'd never know your luck.

They may return to award inventory. Or may not.

Why would I do that ?

SQ changed schedules causing me to have a negative 60 min connection to my confirmed SIN FRA flight.

They moved us to the next SYD SIN flight AND waitlisted us for the SIN FRA sector.

Emails, pleadings etc .... fell on deaf ears with the stock response "... We will request the relevant department to waitlist you"

Now I have a confirmed CX F HKG FRA as a substitute !

Edit: the original post was sent truncated in error, sorry.

oh ok, I'm sorry to hear you might end up cancelling yours. But what are the chances of when calling their call centre to cancel, asking them to rename one of the tickets to a friend's name? I hear SQ call centre is pretty good?! :-) But I guess it depends on which date yours is.

Finally got a chance to redeem on SQ F with availability... Which Option!

NRT-SIN on Suites (20:50-3:25), night flight into SIN and then connecting SIN-PER a few hours later, not sure if TPR will be open at this time?

NRT-SIN on F on 777-300ER (11:10-17:45) , daytime flight connecting to Midnight flight SIN-PER

Or take the HND-SIN on F on 777-300 (22:55-05:20) then connecting SIN-PER a few hours later...

Any advice?

Well for a start TPR closed after last pax leaves for last flt - not sure what time that is - but say maybe 01:00 - closed then until 06:00 - F Lounge open 24/365 - work from there.

The day flight NRT-SIN is the new F. It is quite nice. IMHO, Suites aren't that good that I would take the night flight. But I am based in MEL, so I get a nice stopover before the night flight SIN-MEL. I am flying again in April so can give more feedback then if you have specific questions?
