Thanks for your advice, I might opt for the 777-300ER on the daytime flight, then at least I can be awake for the Krug and Caviar and have some decent time in the TPR before my flight to PER!

I just did the NRT-SIN night flight on Tuesday. Nothing beats suites. I chose to have minimal sleep and worked as much add I could. Got room at the transit hotel for a nice 5 hour kip on arrival. The wentto TPR for a nice lunch. Was a good solution for me and kept me in suites for the whole journey.

Finally got a chance to redeem on SQ F with availability... Which Option!

NRT-SIN on Suites (20:50-3:25), night flight into SIN and then connecting SIN-PER a few hours later, not sure if TPR will be open at this time?

NRT-SIN on F on 777-300ER (11:10-17:45) , daytime flight connecting to Midnight flight SIN-PER

Or take the HND-SIN on F on 777-300 (22:55-05:20) then connecting SIN-PER a few hours later...

Any advice?

Damn I wish SQ used HND more – beautiful airport and so much closer to town. All their 77WNs and A380s run to NRT.

Decided to go with SQ11 connecting to a flight to Perth a few hours later. I read that TPR opens at 530 so will spend some time there.

Chose SQ11 so we can spend more time in Tokyo and to give the suites a try, we got the middle section on row 3 as another couple has taken row 2. It's 11 months away but I'm pretty excited! Told SWMBO that we flying Y with waitlist in J. So will be a good surprise for her I hope!

I know that on the SIN-PER route, only business class is available on regional 777s and A330. I thought that in order to access TPR, your outbound flight from SIN must be in first class? Correct me if im wrong.

I've read in numerous places that if your inbound is in F and connecting to a service that's only available in J you have access.

Indeed if it is a mixed class booking - 1 x sector in R or F / 1 x sector in J - and priced at and paid for at F rates then YES access to F Lounges incl TPR for ALL Lounge access.

Well this could be good news. I am doing suites from LAX-NRT-SIN connecting to SIN-PER in J in Sept to finish my journey. Both on are on separate Award bookings. Im going to give Krisflyer a call as to how TPR is arranged when I get to SIN coming off from Suites.

Why didn't you just ticket as one ticket?

By all means call them b777 - but if you have seperate booking LAX-NRT-SIN in F/R then SIN-PER in J you will not have access to TPR. As vitagen says ticket entire journey as mixed class with J sector SIN-PER tacked onto back end of R/F LAX-NRT-SIN then you can access TPR.

When you call them ask them to change your booking to one complete booking LAX-NRT-SIN-PER - should not be a prob and you will save pts and $s

I just flash the LAX-NRT-SIN Suites boarding pass and they allow you into TPR if you are polite and smile. They know there is only J class to Perth. If you land at 3am TPR is closed but the first class lounge is quiet and open.
Once TPR opens you can walk in.

We have been stopping at the Crowne Plaza at Changi because the 1 or 2 am flight out of Perth does not suit Mrscove. We go in the afternoon and spend the night. So we generally get 2 Saver business class out of Perth. Next morning we go to the TPR for breakfast then off we go in Suites usually in 2a thru to 4a.
So it is two separate bookings when I travel with the wife.

Why not do one booking and pay for a stopover?
32.5k J PER-SIN
107.5k R SIN-LAX

135k J/R PER-LAX

5k points difference, not sure what the difference in co-payment would be though..

$80 for stopover. Is 5K worth $80? I would say yes, but YMMV.

I paid 119,000 for syd-sin-nrt-lax for R including a stopover in nrt, so much cheaper booking it all in one award.
