I will test this area in the middle of May. Our family is a big user of this product and London is one of Mrscove's favourite destinations.

Can't you convince her to return via CDG - way lower taxes. Personalised seats or not!

We have tried Manchester and Paris but London is her first choice seeing we use a driver and sometimes we get to Canary Wharf in London well within 2 hours of touchdown at Heathrow.

Just to keep mrs cove interested 39 mins when cross rail opens :)

SQ Suite pax on public transport and rubbing shoulders with commoners? I think not - bite your tongue Danger!

I'll hang my head in shame when I'm on the N'EX heading to Shinjuku, thinking about the okonomiyaki I'll be having for dinner

Tokyo is probably the one exception to the rule given the distance from Narita to central Tokyo (and the price of transport).

I met a [wealthy older] Singaporean couple who had paid for Suites to Narita, and then they took the NEX. They didn't drink alcohol, and spend most of the flight sleeping / resting... ah well more Krug for me...

Well I was joking kids - hope you all realised that - I myself will be arriving into PEK on 802 Next Wed aft - deplane - through APEC channel - collect luggage - down elevator to taxi rank - stand in line 500 deep and wait 40 mins for taxi - stick bags in taxi boot myself to make sure they are actually loaded intact - sit in front RH seat of taxi - head out airport - listen to driver hock and hock and hock then drop a huge goobie out taxi window - window then wound up and driver will then light up a gasper - by this time he will have cut off 300 other cars on the road - my heart will be pounding at about 2500 RPMs - we'll then dive up the emergency lane on extreme right for 500mtrs because airport expressway will be chockers - he'll then drop another coupla goobies out the window - swig away on his cold green tea he stores between front seats in a 20yo coffee jar - ah taxi from PEK - can't beat it - CHINA - NEVER A DULL MOMENT!

Oh I know it was all in jest

Your China taxi sounds like a flat fare taxi I used in Bangkok for a very early emirates flight. Hooning along at 140-50KM an hour, taking turns like I was on a le mans course, all the while thinking I have no seat belt and the minute he breaks hard I'm windshield pancake.

Shame more airports ain't like KUl and NRT / HND with comfy reasonably priced rail into the city.

One doesn't want to waste all that Krug one consumed on the flight now

Both PEK and PVG do have good train services - my problem is the luggage I always have with me - 2 big 4 wheelers and 1 4 wheeler cabin roller - just too much to try to get onto / off these airport trains. I can manage these bags from Beijing Sth to Nanjing Sth - but others just too difficult.

We will use the Cross City rail to get to Canary Wharf as it saves an hour.
Not keen on the spitting CE and I can see why you would not sit behind the driver.
Mrscove once said if another Mexican scratched his itchy cough or spat she would scream so I think Beijing may not suit her.
Looking forward to caviar and vodka as we don't have it in the fridge ever.

Always have a small drop of premium vodka in the fridge (thanks, Changi dollars!!) but +1 on the "no caviar"..... Can't stand it!
