Obviously a bad joke Cove ...lol

Your monthly turnover is probably equivalent to my annual turnover!!! Another AB win - I shall send you a nice Pinot Noir from Central Otago.

Yes I am joking Kimster.
I have Amex Premier rewards and a Citi AA executive card in the U.S. and I am very happy with the results.
The Amex warehouses points that can go to Kris Flyer and both cards have no extra foreign exchange fees.

In my US mail last night there was an offer of 100,000 miles for $450 on an Amex Platinum card sign up after a $3,000 spend. U.S. Credit Cards can be pretty attractive and we ran up miles using Australia, UK and U.S. expenses seeing they have no adverse foreign exchange charges. That Amex Premier Rewards card started that on about June1st and the Citi AA card had that from the start.
I think Citi Prestige has a 3.4% fee for 3.3 Kris Miles earn on foreign (non Australian) expenses.
Either way can get you a nice flight.

Yes well we get 2 Kris Miles per dollar on the U.S. Amex Premier Rewards card so we went to the last day of the Nordstrom sale today.
I called that blog "Establishing a credit rating in America" and it worked diningdecadence.
Sure you need to be a speed reader and it is like history repeating going to Nordstrom sale four years later.
I won't tell you how many miles I have run up but I can tell you it has been a great part of a game to travel better for less cost

Some sage advice needed please about waitlisted flights - CE, Cove??

Firstly, a couple of weeks ago I booked a Standard J redemption for my MIL departing this week using 75% of her KrisFlyer points. Prior to doing this, I waitlisted her on a Saver J redemption which was released last week. I contacted SQ and was told that I would have to cancel the original Standard booking and then book the Saver redemption and that they couldn't just transfer the booking over - this seemed a bit odd - but given her imminent departure, I didn't want to risk losing her seat so stayed with the original Standard booking. I understand that if she had the points in her account to cover the Saver redemption then it would have been easy to rebook and then cancel the Standard redemption. Was the info I received from SQ correct?

Secondly, a few months ago, I made a Saver F redemption booking for some friends for next month and prior to doing this, waitlisted them for a Saver R redemption but on the later flights. If either of the waitlisted flights/seats are released, would I have to go through the same process as above - cancel then rebook?

Appreciate your assistance.

Bazzi firstly exactly who did you speak to at SQ? Did you call the 02 9350 0203 number? This is the ONLY number to ever call re rdpt bookings.

Having said that - what you were told re your waitlisted J booking that subsequently confirmed V your booked Standard rdpt - indeed you would have needed to cancel original Standard rdpt and wait until pts redeposited before booking the waitlist cleared Saver rdpt. YES this may have been a problem - did you ask was it at all possible for them to hold the booking for you? I am not aware that they can / will hold for you - I have never had to do this as I always have plenty pts to overcome these scenarios.

As for your second query you should not have to cancel - this can be achieved on back end - but for some reason some agents just won't / don't know how to do this. BUT don't despair call KF on that number above and ask - if you not happy with the response ask for a Manager. Be nice - don't be too aggressive - I have had success with this before - but again if you have plenty pts you can just finalise the cleared waitlist booking and call and cancel - USD30 but you get what you want.

Life is just not so easy post Crystal in the KF domain!

Thanks CE - knew you would come to my rescue ......again!

From memory, I did call a Sydney number and the agent did put me on hold before checking and subsequently telling me to cancel/rebook. MIL was lucky that she got the J redemption so close out and she is happy, I just like to save the points where I can.

Re F/R waitlisted flight, as we will be travelling ourselves at that time, I will pass the info and contact number onto our friends and if the waitlisted flight comes through they will know how to deal with it. I'll suggest that if they have more points to transfer them over to KrisFlyer just in case. They too are happy campers to be flying F for the first time, but as this is their 30th anniversary, I wanted them to have a shot at getting into R.

Many thanks again

I hope u got your Suites at Saver rates and the others at Standard. Ha ha
Thought only two Suites were offered at Saver rates ????

Our son flew separately so just the two of us on one flight infiniti. Look we tend to get three Suites as I ask nicely to get a bed made up if there are empty Suites. I have booked Standard but mostly Saver. I don't hesitate in booking what is available.

Re: EY A380 SYD-AUH starts Monday 1st June

Happy days for me on the way to Rugby World Cup! ;)

Had EY 17 A380 from AUH to LHR F Apartments secured since Feb and have also QF1 in F booked to LHR as a back stop.

There has been no SYD/AUH F in A380 on 15/9/15 when I need to go so secured the F suite for BNE /AUH 787 out on 15/9/15 a few weeks ago.

Check today and grabbed the F Apartment from SYD/AUH on EY 455, so F all the way on EY with some chill time in AUH.

Coming back in F on QF2 so will continue the hunt for SQ and EY and EK back in F to better the QF experience!

I'll just have to test EY and see???????

In my experience, no. Hard product on EY A380 is better but service lacking.

How hard/easy is it to book Apartments on miles compared other award programs like SQ suites?

Is anyone flying 7/09 Syd-Sin 07/09 suites? Looks near full, thought there may be an AFF or two on board ?

Not us Imere12 as we are going the other way from LAX. Our lounge is very quiet so I am hoping for two Suites so I don't have to fiddle with the seat.

I think Suites are easier especially in that u can wait list and there are more sectors on offer
EY doesn't seem to offer SYD LHR but you can get occasionally each sector
Tends to be more last minute than a long way out

We are in TPR this morning and no AFFers in here...in fact it is incredibly quiet but it is 6.18 am.
Did the Krug , caviar with vodka and went the French red. The dessert was very yummy.

got my flights booked for RWC - but if anyone wants to drop some of their waitlisted legs so i can change to more suitable flights, please feel free to do so! :)
