Our flight is in 5 weeks. First time suite'rs :D:D:D:D Getting closer and closer, can't wait for it!

I told my parnter we were flying premium economy (she doesn't know it doesn't exist, so it's good to mess with her a bit ;) ), had to say we were flying something better than Y since I told her I had pts to kill. Even altered the booking confirmation printout to say premium economy :D It's going to be very hard to not ruin it as you say Bazzi. She hates airplane food (mainly because it's mostly been Y food. Somehow I need to find out her preference for BTC without letting her know it'll be good food.

At the moment, I think all my flights are still empty, except the suites 2C/D which show pax or blocked? Guess we'll get the full pamper package.

We're arriving in SIN, from MEL, @ 9.40am for a 2hr stopover, and arriving in SIN, from LHR, @ 7.45am for a 3hr stopover.
It'll be our first time in R and TPR and we haven't been to SIN in a very long time. Just wondering if 2-3 hrs is more than enough time to enjoy TPR and go round and possibly do some exploring/shopping? or should we just enjoy TPR for the entire time?

I told my partner after I had completed the booking last night 'oh, that's in Y too', well, the crestfallen look on her face said it all. I quickly followed it up with a 'I'm just kidding, it's J' , I don't think she noticed my Pinocchio nose!

I am very fortunate that she doesn't ask too many questions about where we are going or how we are getting there but as she doesn't fly very well, the more 'space' around her certainly makes the trip more comfortable for us both. We have literally been barrelling down the Sydney runway on QF 129 when she turned to me and said 'where are we going?' I am delighted that she has that much faith in me and I am also delighted that her faith allows me to plan surprises like this.

As for the food, chickpeas in some form or another seem to be the standard fare across most airlines for vegetarians (which she finds ludicrous on several levels but especially fibre + pressurised cabin = loads of pressure elsewhere) so I know she will enjoy the pre and post flight repast at the F lounge/TPR. As a non drinker, she monitors my alcohol intake only because she wants to be prepared for the hangover that she seems to get - she firmly believes it's from breathing in the fumes!

Looking forward to hearing about your experience ninja-tim so it would be great if you post on your return.

Should have just told her it was in Y, would have been more fun watching her shock.

I shall post my experience. Will be fun doing one.

ninja is OH a Lobster Thermidor fan? If YES then there is your answer on BTC.

Arr into SIN from MEL at 09:40 or 21:40? By the time you arrive TPR you should be well and truly drowned in Krug or Dom - but head straight to TPR and settle in - maybe a glass of VLGD to start and then make a plan. You could nosh down again but don't forget they will feed you also almost right away on next sector.

So you will just have to make those decisions as you go along - shops are only an escalator ride away from SKL/TPR anyway - you both might want to just stroll the length of the shopping strip anyway just to loosen up a bit. Don't forget to go get your $40 Changi dollars each - did you make 2 x o/w bookings or ret booking? If 2 x o/ w you get to double up on the Changi $$$s on return leg - money for jam!

She's sensitive to seafood, but I think she's willing to put up with the reactions on holiday. I'll prob do the lobster and get her something else. Then we can atleast try each others meals.

Arrive in SIN from MEL at 2140 (my bad), so yes dinner time Dom/Krug will be in effect. I'm guessing supper on the SIN-CDG flight at 2355? I wanted to try the food at TPR, might have to share one for the night?...Dinner on plane, burger at TPR, then supper on plane again, don't know if i can handle that much food so quickly, first world problems.

Might take a quick stroll to burn off energy and make room for supper...after the TPR meal :D would like to have a look at the watch shops they have.

We did 2 o/w tickets, MEL-CDG & LHR-MEL, does that mean $80pp? Is that offer still going?

Yes if 2 x o/w bookings then you will both get $40 Changi dollars ea.
Bugger! forgot about Changi $ when I passed through recently - maybe I was still on a bit of a high from my first A380 flight, first SQ J flight, being invited to visit the flight deck by the captain and then being escorted to the KF lounge afterwards by a couple of theSingapore Girls from the cabin crew... :D

Just logged in to seat selector for our suites trip, 1st week October and there are now 3 other pax (excluding the front row centre pair, which are always blocked).
There COULD be 7 of us in Suites!!! Too crowded.

Relax Duffa. Even if 10 Suites are committed you just need to do the early ask to get the second suite.....one for dining and movies/reading and the other one as your bedroom. I have been on one where all 12 were taken and on another where we were the only two.

Yes numbers fluctuate all the time - no biggie.

Hey check this out - next Jun / Jul we have 2 x F & R MEL-SIN-CDG then ZRH-SIN-MEL ret. If I go in and try to select 2 x F / R Savers same flts same days - no go.

BUT change MEL to SYD and it shows availability R and R both Flt pairings same days - so that's 4 R Savers into CDG / out of ZRH - interesting huh?

Hi Cruiser... Its been covered before i think but when you want a stop over. Do you book the saver online first, then call up and change the flight to add a stopover?

First world I know, Cove.
Last time, with just two of us, I felt really guilty after having them open the Krug, the Dom, the Cos and the sticky just for me. I did do my best not to waste any but was unsuccessful. Sacrilege!

Arrrrggg... found flights I wanted to book MEL-SIN-LHR with SIN-LHR in R for May next year transerred points, waiting for them to show up and the flights are now gone (waitlist only)... they were there first thing this morning, so which one of you booked them?!?! :)

So now not sure what to do... Book F on another flight (not R) and waitlist for the R? Or book saver J and waitlist for R on the same flight? hmmm..

Can someone confirm my understanding that if I want to book SYD to RGN but first is only available SYD-SIN (business SIN-RGN) I can still do this mixed class booking by ringing them (but probably lose the 15% discount)?

Yes burmans that is indeed correct - I did post the same thing in the other thread you started also - call KF call ctr - they are always your best friends - tell them what you want to do and provided F/R and J are available you can pay F rates and receive F benefits on all sectors. For example when you arrive SIN you will be holding a SIN-RGN J BP - but you can still access TPR because you have paid F rates.

And what's more they will still give you the 15% discount as this booking cannot be done online - ask nicely and Ye shall receive.

FWIW: Above information gleefully supplied by a KF call ctr Manager and one other KF call ctr senior rep when I met them for dinner in SIN some time ago. Always remember - KF call ctr are your best friends re all matters regarding SQ flts and rdpts.

Thanks for that, haven't read that other thread recently!
