Slowest queues in Changi are at Changi $ counters - if you happen to arrive at wrong time then good luck with that one.

Agree that I have seen Changi Dollar lines looking long. For me, I just delayed it until about 20 minutes later and there was no queue. I know this does not work for tight connections.

Same experience with Changi $ line here. Even had someone try and queue jump on me because apparently i look like an easy target! Your flight can't be leaving that soon if you are here in the queue!

Searching up flight from SIN-MNL on Christmas day; and it appears that Y and J are blocked out on all flights - without even giving me the option of waitlisting (except on F - for which I have waitlisted). From other people's experiences, how likely is it that SQ will release some seats closer to the day? I honestly don't care what class I travel in ....

Same question – why are all savers blocked on some days? Is it just because they're historically big travel days?

Maybe they are just taken already? There are onlya limited number of awards for each flight, though thiscan be variable, and more are often made available late in the piece

While I have certainly not checked every day and destination, so far if I have booked at the maximum time in advance I have always got the flight that I wanted. At least for 2 and even 3 in J when I have been looking for 3.'

Some routes only have one F award though I believe.

As for Xmas, I have looked in past years and only several several months out have seen availaibilty. Ended up booking on otherdates though.

Anyone in TPR by any chance?

Got denied changi vouchers on my way back from LHR even though booked as 2 separate 1 ways. I'm not sure of the rules but I'm sure I have received in both directions previously. Apparently because booked on same day it was a deemed return and hence no dice. 'Consoling' myself with a glass of PH2002.

yes this has has also happened to me before. Deemed to be a return even though arrived and departed from 2 seperate euro destinations. That's the first I have heard of booked on the same day therefore a return !! Enjoy the TPR

I'm doing 2 X F o/w next year. What are SIN $ so that I know if I should be concerned about this? :o

Help! SQ buffs, I have a question that I just can't figure out.

Currently have IST-SIN-MEL booked in J. I saw F availability on the SIN-MEL leg, and called to upgrade it. Was ready to go, but they said they had to waitlist it which I just couldn't understand since it is showing as available. I intended to HUACA, since I was having trouble understanding the agent through a fairly thick accent, but now checking my booking I see he did in fact waitlist me in F.

So, does anyone know what's going on here? Is this normal and why can't I book it? I'm worried I'm losing it (as in, both seat and composure).

Availability is different for direct flights than for connecting. Like in your example, IST-SIN-MEL isn't available in F, but SIN-MEL is. I'm not an expert on mixed class bookings, but generally if you do one you have to pay F rates for the whole trip - not just the sector in F. Not sure if SQ will allow you to change your existing booking to be mixed class.

That makes sense Plutonus. I did think it could be because there's no F on IST-SIN. Don't mind paying the F rate for the whole booking, just want the availability to be released.

Called again, and was told by a new agent that they can't see any availability at their end.

I keep running the search and I'm still getting it as available.

Has anyone ever experienced different availability to the call centre?

It's all about your starting destination. If you search IST to MEL you will see it waitlisted. If you want the SIN to MEL in F you will have to book separate trips ie IST to SIN in J then separate booking SIN to MEL in F. Obviously more points than a one way IST to MEL mixed class booking. It's just the way kris flyer works. Rule of thumb with kris flyer "if you see it and you want it...book it !"

Ah that's how you do it, I knew there was a way but couldn't remember. Thanks Danger

I see! Thanks Danger.

So at what point would the entire route open up in F, if it's already open on the SIN-MEL leg?

Is this just a weird KF quirk that we'll never know the answer to? ;)

Not sure there is any F to IST so you are after a mixed class booking which can only be done thru the call centre. I believe if J saver is available IST to SIN and F saver is available MEL to SIN they MAY be able to marry the sectors on the phone. Cruiser is really the mixed class guru as he does in regularly on one of his trips. May be wait for his input
