Did they read:
and go - Oooh, yes I did. I definitely, definitely did.
Same here. Retraction email onlyI don't know what you lot are complaining about. At least you got complimentary gold for a few hours!
All I got was the retraction email.
They didn't even bother to give me the free upgrade before taking it away.
Hi all,
I got given a bump to Velocity gold, even though I've done no flying with them for a LONG time... (3yrs) :S
Does this make sense to anyone?
And now i'll start the conspiracy's. Think that this could just be a viral promotion to tell more people what Gold status offers customers?!
But then again its only IT people. Where I work the IT goons succesfullly removed Micrsoft word & excel from 100's of computers. So we all stopped work for the day.
Of course, people in other industries never make mistakes do they?

Latest tweet from VirginBlue: "We're truly sorry for the confusion caused by the Gold status email & working on figuring out what went wrong. Thanks for your understanding"
Someone's copping a bit, obviously!
They seemed to have (unjustly) escaped media attention for this. A search of Google News for 'virgin', 'blue' and 'gold' gave me one relevant match:

IT news. Not Fairfax, not NewshasbeenLimited. PR monster working?

It will be interesting to see what happens news wise in the near future.

Well complain to Velocity Rewards/Virgin Blue then. It will achieve nothing (probably) but will help validate your claim.
Try the YUP/KUP runs in the USA. You can probably get QF Platinum status for less than AUD2000.Care to share how you're doing that? Unless you're getting 10SC red e-deals for less than $20 each I can't see how
They aree not real IT people anyway. But then again its only IT people. Where I work the IT goons succesfullly removed Micrsoft word & excel from 100's of computers. So we all stopped work for the day.
Not much I wouldn't think. We're dealing with the underdog here, not the tall poppy
