New terminal opens on 21 Dec. Don't know what time though, so keep your eyes peeled. Gates 39/40 will be closed down and boarded up for renovations now.

Still can't believe they ripped out the moving walkways - they were a nice reminder of the AN days. At least there's still a bit of "heritage" in SYD T2 - there's a few faded AN logos lingering on the luggage carousels. Hopefully the moving walkways in BNE are still there.

I was in the Lounge in SYD yesterday & there was still the white boarding up at the entrance. Once of the Lounge Ladies said it would be a few more days yet, I suspect if not open by Friday, then could be a week or so after Xmas.

Just curious, with the announcement of Virgin Australia & Sydney Airport open upgraded T2 terminal earlier this morning, is the new lounge also open ?

So is a J lounge actually confirmed yet ?

What I have had confirmed to me, is that there are two new lounge areas to be opened in Sydney.

1./ The new lounge area upstairs above the existing lounge, that we all know about.
2./ And one at the end of the pier on the top level: when I enquired about what was being built "up there", I was advised that information about this lounge is currently being kept "under the radar".

I'm in the upstairs lounge. I took some pics but I can't get them uploaded from my phone. Will load them later from my laptop.

Place is looking well, albeit not quite complete looking.

The bar area is very similar to the Brisbane lounge, although a bit more cluttered looking.

It's open, and there are only about 10-15 people here. Nice view of the gates from here.
