Take off with Status Credits on selected Qantas Classic Award flights

Last week I got a 50% extra status credits offer, this week I get a status credits on classic awards offer. Wonder what next weeks offer will be.

Perhaps they are testing the water to see if JASA's should return??? (always the optimist!!)

Travelling J KTA-PER return is the same as the old MASA in points for my date of travel. but only half the SC's. (half the fees as well). ie both 48,000 points 60 versus 120 SC's $82.50 fees versus $306.00.

But neither I or Mrs RC got the offer anyway:(

Another who got it. Wondering if all the recipients are former mASA users?

I didn't get the offer, but Mrs 2905 did. Neither of us have ever used mASA's.

The e-mail says...

Blah, blah, blah..... boosting your balance and helping you reach Silver status and more rewards..... blah, blah, blah..... travel between 1 October 2014 and 31 January 2015.

The 255 SC's that she has (which will be 275 after this weekend) are to be wiped next Tuesday, just before the offer's travel period. Some boost.

A nice try including J this time but international J paying only economy SC is not much of an incentive. Better than a kick in the head at least.

I have a feeling there will be a general paid DSC promotion at the end of the year..... Just like last year.

Include your Qantas Frequent Flyer number in your booking. If the Frequent Flyer number of any other passenger is included in the booking they will also earn Status Credits without having to register separately.

Even if someone in your family wasn't targeted for the offer they can still earn points if they are included in the same booking, however given that you don't earn a squiggle (~ ) or points or even get SC for the class of travel flown eg J I can't see the value in it TBH.

I haven't done any comparisons as yet with commercial fares however with a lot of sale fares about at the moment it's my gut feeling that you're probably better off just buying a fare & getting points, SC & the squiggle if crediting to QF or if you've already jumped ship, crediting to another OW frequent flyer program.

I don't think I will be using this.
I find it very irritating ( a slight underestimation of my feelings) that QF removed JASAs and since then I have received a variety of offers - DSCs, SCs on Classics etc.... What are they playing at???

Simple - they weaned flyers off ASA/MASA ..... they will now start to drip-feed/entice the same flyers back via reduced/cheaper SC offers. Squeezing more from the same wallet - smart.

Also received this offer (and the 50% SC bonus last month). Will probably book a couple of flights for travel later this year and Christmas under this offer.

I got the offer but Mrs SG Pineapple didn't. Have registered and might take it up but some of the J sale fares look more tempting. We both did plenty of JASAs in the past.

Not quite what the JASA deal used to be (no points and 1/2 the SCs) but better than no SCs at all.

Cheers skip

I got the offer as well, have registered, now just have to decide to them up the offer, I think I will, help me decide? :p.

Have been tossing up whether to go to BNE or OOL in DEC (13/14) but I couldn't justify the price considering I'm saving for Europe trip in 2015, I have also been saving my QFF points to reduce costs for this trip.
With this offer, MEL > SYD > BNE > SYD > MEL will cost me 24,000 points and $122.39 and earn me 40SC. I guess the question here, is this offer worth it? (I'd like to maintain silver and I think this will definitely help)

Edit: or do I travel in Business every leg: 48,000 points, $122.39, return of 80SC. Hard to choose! Sacrifice points or not :S

Seems like a very broad target but I'm curious as to what the trigger would be to receive the offer.

I didn't get it, but most likely wouldn't have used it anyway. I've re'qualed for WP this year but will fall well short of WP1. My status reassessment date is 1st of Jan.

I did not get the offer but +1 did. If I book an award flight for myself from +1's account, will I get the SCs?

I'm another former mASA user who hasn't received anything.

It's a brilliant move from the Qantas 'Loyalty' team:

- remove something of high value and permanent but hidden which only a few savvy members knew about (mASAs)
- selectively re-introduce that thing for one-off special promotions, effectively showing them which members ask "How high?" when they say "Jump!"

More valuable info in their customer profiling database.

It's a bit ambiguous but I think both you and the +1 would need to be in the booking for you to get SC
