Take off with Status Credits on selected Qantas Classic Award flights

I received the offer but SO didn't despite us both being WP. Just wondering whether a domestic J Classic Award redemption I booked mid-August was the trigger for receiving the offer as I did the booking for both of us from my account (same pnr). Perhaps they figure that if you were prepared to do a Classic award with zero SC/points/~ earn then you would look more favourably at receiving any SC earn however meagre.

Mmmm. Possibly. I booked a J award redemption for early July (also a couple of points upgrades in August) and got the offer. Mrs Pineapple didn't do either, and didn't get the offer.

Cheers sskip.

I did not get the offer but +1 did. If I book an award flight for myself from +1's account, will I get the SCs?

It's a bit ambiguous but I think both you and the +1 would need to be in the booking for you to get SC
I have just found my email with said offer - it was in my work email spam folder! Now to see if I can take advanatge of this offer!?

Interesting theory, and one that I was wondering as well.

I do have a classic award and have received the offer, but the award was booked through my partners account and she didn't get the offer.

I received this offer (and the 50% extra SC's offer) and I have not flown with QF since Jan 2014. I have never booked a Classic Award flight (did a few JASA's back in the day).

When I received these offers I was thinking that they were trying to tempt me into spending some $$$.

Well I took the bait.

Booked J award seats BNE-SYD, a Y sale fare SYD-AKL and a J sale fare AKL-BNE. Had to go in Oct so no SCs on awards in Int'l then.

J award seats BNE-SYD sure beat $180 each for a red e-deal in Y. 20 SCs was just the icing on the cake.

What the offer did do was get me hunting out a nice excursion, just like the 'time and a half' SCs deal did last time. That's two up for the QF marketing folks...

Cheers skip

Well I am still without any offer
. I am interested why I am selected to miss out, it appear so many have

I had to undertake some unexpected travel and booked after registering for this promotion, however I noticed that the standard 0 points / SC entry appeared in my activity statement. I wonder if this is to be expected and will be followed by a corrective entry...

A few on AFF have received the offer.

Last offer I received was in April but the offers are no good to me and Qantas already know I am a loyal customer so no need to do anything extra.

im starting to think this may be my case also. several forward bookings might have been a tipping point. appreciate your thoughts

A friend of mine asked me about this offer, do the status credits come through straight away in the normal points transaction after the flight or does it come through as 0 SC's then a points adjustment later?

Not sure, no SCs from 5 eligible flights undertaken so far which leads me to assume that it will be a points adjustment later. I have emailed QFF to ask this specific question and will report back if I receive an answer.

From the initial offer email:

Status Credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of your travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

Yes aware of this, but this just seems a blanket clause in almost all QF offers where bonus points and SC's are offered. Sometimes bonus points/SC's are applied every day or every week, sometimes immediately, but as of late some of the offers are taking around 4 weeks to come through. Just trying to gauge as my friends membership year is 31 Oct and wants the SC's credited before their year ends so they can make WP before their upcoming flight.

I'd work with the "worst-case scenario", ie the SCs taking the maximum 6 weeks after travel to hit the account.

I'd just wait until the flights post with zero points & SC then call up and ask them to do a manual adjustment over the phone. The SC will still count towards the year ending 31 Oct ie they will still reach WP, however as you said your friend wants his/her status to click over to WP before their next flight.

I don't know if you're really 'missing out' to be perfectly honest, after all how many people who received the 'offer' will actually book anything? I was pricing a return Classic to HNL (in whY) and the airline imposed fees, levies, charges plus the taxes is over $500.00 return! You can buy a return airfare for around $1,000.00 plus still hang on to the 72K points you would have redeemed for the award, plus of course earn points & SC on the commercial fare.

JASA's you could justify the extra charges however now they're gone I can see why people choose to avoid Classic awards altogether and instead purchase AA or AS miles to redeem on QF then keep their points for upgrades particularly when the taxes to book awards through other carriers are only a fraction of the QF Classics ie 10 to 15%.

No offer for me, but then again, I don't have many points left to spend, so burning them as I get sufficient for upgrades to J.

Flew ADL-MEL return last week (J award) and received 2x20 SCs on Monday.

I have also taken the bait, SC run MEL-SYD-CNS (Y) CNS-BNE-MEL (J) on Nov 18th

Pleased to report that the SC's for my trip posted within three days, 85 all up - While the SC earn is nothing like the old JASA days it will help with maintaining SG this year.
Very pleasant and enthusiastic FAs on my J legs from CNS to MEL as well! Although the BNE J lounge was standing room only!

Well my weekend trips have posted with zero points and SCs. Will be interesting to see how long until the points and SCs take.

Not an issue for me since my membership year has just started.
