Latest update by airlineroute (this morning) shows the first A359 schedule to enter operation 1 October on 465/466.

461/462 to be operated by a mix of 772, 773, 77W. My flight has been changed to a 77W and seat allocations have been mapped across. Very good chance there'll be a sub... but fingers crossed!!

Does anyone know which J seat Thai have for their A350.I flew the Finnair A350 on the weekend and although all the bells and whistles I thought it very uncomfortable and was unable to sleep on the overnight flight.Basically no feet room.

It looks very similar to what they operate on the 777-300ER - 1-2-1 configuration.

I have flown this a few times and find it pretty good. However yes there is not a lot of feet room. I did like the privacy however.

The roll out of Thai Airways International's brand-new Airbus A350 XWB jets has been put on hold.

The flag carrier had planned to debut the state-of-the-art aircraft on its Bangkok-Melbourne route as part of THAI's enhanced service.

But Australian civil aviation authorities have kept THAI in the dark
as to whether or when it will approve the airline's application to operate the world's latest commercial airliner to and from Australia.

Uncertainty over the matter and the arrival of THAI's second A350 at Suvarnabhumi airport this week have prompted the flag carrier to reactivate
its Plan B for the aircraft.

THAI will now deploy its first pair of long-range twin-engine wide-body jet airliners on its European trunk routes, instead of flying to Australia.

Thai Airways A350 launch in limbo | Bangkok Post: news.

A little surprised :( But at least TG is trying to do the right thing with 77W and 747 substitution (especially if you can get the F cabin) rather than continuing with the 772-773 variants.

When I fly TG J out of MEL I've always just banked on the fact i'll get sloping J seats and anything is better is a bonus.

Bangkok Post quotes THAI as saying they have no idea why it has taken Australian authorities so long to approve their A350 flying to Australia. Australian authorities are being quoted as unfamiliar with this type of aircraft, as no other carrier had operated this plane before over Australian airspace, and THAI would be the first international carrier to do so. Given that Qatar and Singapore are flying the A350 to Australia, I would think the THAI comments are misplaced. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. ;)

I think you'll find that Thai has some pretty severe issues with CASA.....or perhaps more correctly, CASA with Thai.

Utter balls up by Thai. Can anyone actually provide a link or any info of what the Australian authorities have actually requested?

Really? TG said they were going to launch a new aircraft. They didn't get approval, so are subbing the planes with full flat (or better) equivalent. The upgraded meal service is already in place.

Utter balls up? I'm not sure. If they had substituted with angled lie flats I would have agreed with you. (And may well be agreeing with you come the next schedule if they bring back the angled seats)

I don't know, but I thought it was related to the downgrade of the Thai Dept of Civil Aviation, rather than Thai Airways in particular.

Thai has now released their schedule BKK-MEL for Jan/Feb 2017. From a search of about 30 dates:

JAN: the TG465/466 will use the 777-300 (77W full flat bed) daily

FEB: the TG465/466 is 777-300 (77W full flat) daily except the Sunday flight which is operated by the 772/773.

TG461/462 operated by the 772/773 exclusively (angled beds).

Seat maps have been updated to reflect the change.

March 1 now slated for A350 flights.
