TG's rolling A50 schedule now has the B777 on flights to MEL for all of march (A50 slated for April but likely to get pushed back again).

In general TG465/466 operated by 777-300 (flat beds) and TG461/462 operated by 777-200/300 (angled recliners).

I've booked TG MEL-BKK-MEL in business for Jul/Aug to try the 350. If it's delayed further or looks like being replaced by a 772 I'll cancel and book with another airline. Replacement by a 77W would be OK, but who can be sure that's what will turn up?

darn it! i am regular flyer with thai out of melbourne and well aware of average business seats.

But when i booked my flights for april (back in september), and must have been excited with dreams of A350 in my head. i thought i would be safe >6 months after rollout.

I even booked an over night flight! AARRGGHH how silly was I.....

At least they are refurbing the 777-200ERs next year with new beds.

Just looking at my June booking for MEL-BKK-LHR with TG, the MEL-BKK-MEL legs have changed to 77W going & 772 coming back, so no A350 for MEL for the immediate future :-(
At least BKK-MEL is a day flight so I wouldn't want a flat bed on this sector anyway.

eff 01AUG17 Both MEL flights will be 77W

It's a nice to have though - then the choice can be yours. Plenty of pax connect from Europe/Asia, have very early starts to make that flight, or have engagements after they arrive. Flat beds give you the choice to sleep if needed.

Just had a MyFlights message that my flight on 22 April is now a 777 so looks like it's been pushed back again. It's TG461 so not even the flat bed :(

Well, I have cancelled my ticket on TG and rebooked with QR, ADL-DOH on their 350, These shenanigans with TG are quite unacceptable. I guess thats all you can expect from an airline controlled by the military.

Not that Im hugely wedded to 350s, but I did want to try the TG version. Ive already sampled the Finnair one.

Guess, i will goto Syd and try the first class instead.. took TG461 last Dec and it's really not comfortable :-)

TG 1st class on the 744 is OK, but very dated. At least the service and food/drink is good.

I don't think this is TG's fault - the Australian regulators are stopping TG flying new aircraft types here.

I'd recommend this. Marked step up in all respects. Both the new and old F cabins have their pros and cons. I don't think either is 'bad'.

I'll belive it when I see it, but fingers crossed. I have the overnight services booked in biz to and from BKK (USM) in March 2018.

Likewise, I'm on TG462 at Christmas time - I'll believe when I actually am sitting onboard. :)

I think the only 'certainty' is that the 772 will come back on line, the a350 is simply aspirational that gets added each time. The last notification had the a50 operational on a double daily from October 17. Not going to happen :(

Fingers crossed KUL - BKK - LHR - BKK - KUL in September on TG916 in J is currently showing as A350 outbound and A380 inbound. Happy to provide a TR on the experience (if the aircraft hasn't changed). FWIW, flight was a pretty reasonable $3,2K roundtrip.

My TG465/466 around Christmas has been changed from a 77W to a 359. We'll see if it actually happens. Not holding my breath.
