Thailand Test & Go & Bangkok in Feb 2022

Cheers John. Hopefully by May things have started to open up a lot more, the tourism sector there are screaming for more flexibility.
Looks like things are changing quickly there.

Thailand has lots of issues. I know tourism supposedly makes up 7% of GDP but thats still a lot of people for a country where many are below poverty line.

Covid along with corruption has not helped the country especially the THB. The THB should be 30+ to the AUD but when we were last there in March 2020 it was down to 17 and now only just hovering above 23. The Thais have been toying with the idea of only trying to attract rich tourists but I can't see that being a roaring success.

Hopefully we see things improve quickly.

Hi there, just wondering about the RT-PCR requirement for Thailand Test n Go. I have booked a SHA+ hotel, is the RT-PCR test a part of that booking? If not, where do I book it and provide the proof? Cheers,

No the PCR test is not part of the hotel booking.

This link has the different options for entering Thailand depending upon where you're arriving.

Here's where you start the actual booking:

And here is where you book the actualk test:

Once you have booked the test, I suggest you advise the hotel it has been booked and then start the actual Thai Pass application.

they're making it hard, aren't they?! We've booked flights for Tuesday week (which are fully refundable), but am holding off on booking anything else as I don't want to be out of pocket if we're knocked back for some finicky mistake. Just waiting for updated announcements to come this week re Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan - anywhere in Asia really, that don't require jumping through hoops and booking non refundable 'extras'. Murphy's law they'll make the announcements as soon as I've booked everything too!

we're flying into Bkk, and the Bangkok Hospital page to book a PCR test at THB 4000-5500 keeps giving a 403 error message?!

My test WAS part of the booking and most others I've know too. It really depends I guess on the hotel when you book it. All I did was book my SHA+ hotel stay, I was picked up at the airport, taken for a drive through test and off to the hotel to wait (6 hours in the end).

can I ask where you booked the hotel? was it through wotif, agoda or one of those or just direct with the hotel?

I am arriving in coughet on the 8th April Is the sandbox the best option or the test and go? I also see that you only need to have a reservation is SHA+ Hotel for the first night.

Thank you to all that are updating this its is a great help.

I never looked at Sandbox as I was coming in through BKK, but SHA+ was so easy. Thaipass website was a little clunky, but I had no real issues. Landing into the airport, getting picked up, getting the test and waiting couldn't have been easier. I was only 'locked up' for 6 hours.

we're due to land in Bkk at 4:10pm - I wonder if we'd get our test results back in time to have a wander that evening?

I doubt it. I landed at 7am, tested by 9am and had the results 6 hours later. I have heard people having results even quicker, but being at night, I'd expect you'll have your results in the morning.

I'm heading over on 20 April. Some of the info I am reading is a bit contradicting. I know I need to be fully vaxxed (I have had 2 jabs) but some of the sites I am reading says fully vaxxed includes the booster which I have not had.
Can someone who has recently traveled to Thailand confirm please ?

What have people found to be the best insurance cover that has the Minimum 20K USD included for Covid?

I am still struggling to find a good package so any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you :)

My Test & Go hotel booking includes PCR Test & Transport to hotel from airport. I wasn't aware that there was another way to do it?!

it seems to be that way if you book direct with the hotel. I think if you book through Wotif or one of the third party websites, the hotel booking doesn't include transfers and testing. Could be wrong though...

When you apply for Thai Pass there is an option for insurance then, I just took that up to make it simple. It wasn't expensive as I recall.
