#16 An incoming immigration card for a nation not in Asia or Oceania

Odd place for a fire extinguisher, you’d think it would get knocked a lot. However, per the rules of the hunt:

Finds can only be photos that are dated from the date of this OP (22/02/2010) or later. No previous photos are allowed.

I think you may be too early with the iMac unfortunately ;)

They weren't working Macintosh computers - which wasn't in the rules - each of them (there were 4) had a sign "out of service" (or something similar) - wonder how long those signs had been there for.

Date and time stamp in filename indicates when photo was taken which was definitely on Thursday night US time.

Ah yes, I didn’t even look at the exif info in the file as you said Jan 25, and I guess you meant Feb 25? I was just going on what you said ;)

I bet the machines would have turned on, had they been connected to the wall and had kb/m!

Very good, NM. I like your style. (You did at least roll the model planes onto the apron to give the impression that they "parked" there, right?)

I have to admit I didn't want to make too many hooks on all of the items; one reason for brevity, and the other is that the list makes for reading worse than an airline CoC. And we all know we barely want to read those....

You might want to get that replaced before arriving in the UK next. It's the old style and is being phased out (the new ones have a blue header and ask a few more questions). As of a few months ago, they were still accepting the old ones but will stop that at some stage.

I have a blue one that I was going to photograph for this, but ran into the issue of it already being mostly pre-filled (ie it's my emergency backup if IRIS doesn't work).

I'll have to continue work on the few I have my eye on:
- Clotted Cream
- Krug
- Non US Keyboard.

Although each sound simple, in practice it's a bit harder. If nobody else gets some of the others, then I will try when I'm at LHR in 2 weeks.

Remember Mal that you can only find 3 items. You've already found one, so choose two which you believe others won't found.

Of course, you could attempt a LW.... :p "I don't condone this practice, however....." (you get the idea).

lol. Perhaps I could try a LW picture transfer.

I know the 3-per-person rule, but just having many targets doesn't mean going over my 3 limit :)

I'm thinking of putting this on FT OMNI and seeing how fast they can find the entire list.

I might need to tweak it a bit, because obviously there is a big Aussie/QF factor here.

Notes

I was a bit torn about the find of #18 between Hvr and kiwitripper64, because Hvr posted up the find first, but kiwitripper64 "found" it first but didn't get the photo up until later (for whatever reason - firewalls?). My decision is to give them both the credit as one find, but since it isn't fair to credit one find for them each (for the purposes of the limits-per-person rule), I've decided to let them each have +1 on the maximum number of finds. So technically each of them may find a total of four items.

If this isn't acceptable to the rest of the populace, let it be known on this thread and on this thread only, or forever hold thy peace.

This is partly my fault because I didn't call on a find early enough, or give kiwitripper64 another way out. However, for all other finds, it is considered "found" only when the poster puts the photo up. A declaration without photo won't count. You can always email or PM me if you need a way to upload finds (I can get the photo off you and put it up on FT Galleries).

On another note, although I've been lax with it so far, can everyone please remember to post all finds with the following minimum detail:
  • Find # and name
  • The photo of the find
  • Date of photo (must be after 22/02/2010 to be accepted)
  • Location of photo (at least city and country)

Yet to be found:
#1: HKG-based ground crew holding a "Final Call" sign (you can just take a picture of the sign if you want, not the crew + sign)
#2: Bottle of Krug
#3: "Final Call" written in a language other than English
#4: Airport directional sign written in at least three languages (including English)
#5: Boarding pass which is completely printed (e.g. the BP without any print on it would be just a completely blank piece of cardboard/paper)
#7: A single word which has two distinct antonyms (these antonyms are not synonyms of each other)
#8: Triple loading gate with an A380 parked at it with all jetways in position
#10: A non-Australian nationalistic soft toy in a duty free shop (not necessarily in Australia)
#12: An aircraft registration that actually forms a word (you don’t have to use the entire rego, but the minimum word length is 3 letters)
#13: A helicopter at an airport
#14: Sushi found in an airport lounge
#15: Clotted cream
#17: Wine served from a jug rather than a bottle
#20: An EXIT sign in a language other than English
#21: A sign or board which displays all of the members of the Star Alliance
#23: A foreign keyboard (i.e. not US layout)
#24: A water feature inside an airport (e.g. fountain) – a shower is not a water feature
#25: A flight shown with at least 4 flight numbers (viz. 1 operating metal flight number and at least 3 codeshare flight numbers)
#28: Eight glasses of beer – this item requires two photos: one photo showing a "before drinking" shot; the other is an "after drinking" shot. In both shots, all eight glasses must be shown
#29: Eggs Florentine
#30: A self-check-in machine which is out of order
#31: Bottle of Chinese beer
#32: A sign at a gate indicating the location / presence of priority boarding which is not a sign from QF
#38: Salt and pepper shakers – shot must be shown as being on board an aircraft
#40: A food or drink item (e.g. bag of nuts, bottle of water, etc.) that specifically states or shows that the item was prepared specially for an airline

You keep mentioning it, obviously happy to see someone else use it, so if it’s not gone, you’re welcome to PM it my way and I’ll post it on behalf of you ;)

I would now like to claim #17 Wine served from a jug rather than a bottle.

samh004-albums-scavenger-hunt-128-wine-served-jug-rather-than.jpg

The photo was taken tonight, Monday 1st March 2010. The wine was a Cow Bombie from BWS that earned me 100 extra points from EDR.
