3% is the current estimated TTS death rate, not covid
Given national Covid death rate is 2.97% you can understand the confusion.

And everyone ignores the after effects of Covid, including on young people. Dr FM worked with a number of young doctors in London, who 6 months after they recovered from Covid were still barely able to work full shifts. So people who get TTS are somehow more important than other people? Please explain
And the total people hospitalised/dead from vaccinations are not as important as the people who will be so from either the flu or covid once we open up?
Even ignoring that younger people do get hospitalised and die from the flu, the sheer likely number of combined deaths and hospitalisations once we open up again will dwarf the number of adverse events from our entire vaccination program.
I think you are comparing risk for the individual - I'm talking about the collective risk as a nation.

What’s new - she has been unhinged all the way through.

And that has never been in dispute. But a blank refusal - amongst people 60+ - is ridiculous. When making a decision to choose a riskier vaccine option you have to consider you personal health situation, to do otherwise is silly.
Have to say I think this first statement is a bit naive. While I agree that the OP is totally over the top in her advocacy for Pfizer, nevertheless I know quite a few people who have had AZ but would rather have had Pfizer, and yes are jealous of those who can or have had Pfizer. I've had AZ and am quite happy with it but I don't let my personal opinions blind me to the fact that others do think differently, I don't have to agree with their opinions. Why would anyone be jealous? Both are excellent vaccines. And now millions have a choice to get vaccinated faster if they want. It’s win-win.
I really don’t understand what you have against this decision to drive broader access, it provides people with more options... whatever you personally decide to do and what to believe is up to you, it’s your decision.
Really - I gave up watching their pressers some time ago, but it sounds like I might need to watch this one. What’s new? If you have a strong stomach watch it... New levels were achieved today. Shouting, lying, deflecting - It was a DISASTER and self-preservation was the number 1 priority (for all involved today).
4 more months till the CHO is moved on. Tick tock....

The biggest anti-vaxxers in Australia, the lot of them! And all for a political point scoring exercise to divert attention from certain failures. On top of their public hesitancy in getting the vaccine themselves, this scorched earth move is unbelievable.Oh it was all four of them. It was horrifying. If you don’t like your TV and want to throw a brick through it, rewatch it.
A lovely mix of lies, casual racism and ignorance just desperately trying to defect that a lot of this was our own mess.
Answers to many journalists questions quite rightly taking them to task was the classic ‘I don’t have those details’
Mind numbing.
Let the individual make the decision in consultation with their GP.
It does not need to be informed by the opinions of politicians or members of this forum.

I think “jealous” is a very strong, emotive word. If you use “prefer” then I would agree with you. I would have preferred to have had Pfizer and most of my friends would have as well. Mainly because there is a perception that Pfizer gives you that little extra protection. Can’t say I am “jealous” though. I was quite happy to get AZ in April and am really grateful that it was easily available compared to what is happening in Africa, where I know people across many different countries and it’s a vastly different story there.Have to say I think this first statement is a bit naive. I dont have anything against the choice, I have issues with people promoting this choice as a recommendation for AZ for under 50s when it is not.
AZ formula has not been improved, there are still greater risk for younger people taking AZ over Pfizer, giving GPs indemnity doesnt change the TTS risk.

Well I think per capita that’s not exactly true.It will be really interesting to see the effect of the toddlers tantrum this morning....
QLD is already at the back of the pack for vaccinations.
Will be interesting to see in a week or two the effect it has had, whether NSW and VIC continue to streak ahead of us (being the big 3 states).
