Not sure what you mean by that? I'm sure the vaccines were well into trial before Alpha emerged.Well considering the jab is targeted at the alpha variant

So Andrew Barr just tweeted that they had a very peaceful and harmonious cabinet meeting. Let’s hope they can get the rollout on tracks after the hysteria over the last few days

No really unexpected though, if current circumstances can't persuade people to get vaccinated I don't know what will. What would be more important to watch is whether this is a trend or like the Victoria lockdown just a blip.Which by the way was a record. The previous high on 11th June was 153,338
I think that means nothing was decided.
Oops. For some reason I though that was the original strain when I typed my message earlier. Not sure what you mean by that? I'm sure the vaccines were well into trial before Alpha emerged.
Apparently the PM will be speaking at a press conference scheduled for 11:30am.So Andrew Barr just tweeted that they had a very peaceful and harmonious cabinet meeting. Let’s hope they can get the rollout on tracks after the hysteria over the last few days
Just seen that - will be tuning inApparently the PM will be speaking at a press conference scheduled for 11:30am.

There is now a need to take your Medicare card when having the flu vaccination because it is now the best way to have a record of your vaccinations.
he more channels and greater geographic spread, the better.
So all the pessimists who have used the daily vaccination numbers to predict that we won't potentially all be vaccinated by the end of 2022 will now trumpet that if we keep up this daily rate for 5 days a week we could potentially have everyone vaccinated by the end of September.Which by the way was a record. End of September! I don't expect it to happen. So all the pessimists who have used the daily vaccination numbers to predict that we won't potentially all be vaccinated by the end of 2022 will now trumpet that if we keep up this daily rate for 5 days a week we could potentially have everyone vaccinated by the end of September.
I don't expect any headlines.
Realistically we will never get everyone vaccinated, so 80% is the figure really. 32 million jabs - 24 million to go. we just did a million in 8 days. So if hysterical premiers could just stop sabotaging everything we could do it (at least 1 jab)End of September! I don't expect it to happen.
Well as you say time will tell. I am always a rampant optimist. We did 1 million in what most would regard as an extraordinary week, definitely not normal. There are thirteen weeks until end Sept, so we need to be closer to 2 million. Time will tell but I think even getting consistently 20% above where we are now wont happen until we get those bulk Pfizer supplies, i.e. October at the earliest.
@mviy - for you?For anyone in Melbourne....hot tip....the new vaccination centre that is run by Northern Health at the Plenty Ranges Arts Centre has received stock and has come online with an abundance of 1st dose Pfizer appointments available starting today. It has an online booking that is separate to the main booking system.
Do they break it down at all for Pfizer/AZ? You post implies not at all.So feds have just published some new data re first and second doses by age and gender:
View attachment 251832
447k people under 40 have had both doses of the vaccine probably Pfizer given the timing - that's about 1/4 of all Pfizer doses.
So those saying not much Pfizer given to younger people are not correct. The under 50s (most of whom would have had Pfizer) account for about 48% of vaccinations so far.
