The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

VIC now showing extremely high vaccination levels for a lot of LGAs. Most are above 95% first dose and those LGAs still below 80 (Melbourne and Yarra) are because the denominator is wrong. Only a handful of LGAs are in the low 80s, the rest are in the high 80s or 90+ for first dose. First dose numbers should flow through to fully vaccinated numbers within the next month or so. Already a number of LGAs are at >95% fully vaccinated.

Hume for example is now at >95% first dose and 89.2% fully vaccinated.

SA Health understands that the denominator is wrong as this % forms the basis of being allowed into SA. They are working on it.

As I’ve posted before apparently 5 LGA’s in Vic and I think 4 in Sydney are being reviewed (I missed the exact number in Sydney as phone line dropped out in the briefing call).

And just to be clear SA Health has nothing to do with the reviews they will just accept the data that is provided and can stick to tracking pizza deliveries ;)

The main 3 LGAs in NSW with inaccurate denominators are: Sydney LGA, Randwick LGA and Inner West LGA. Despite the inaccuracies Inner West has limped past 80% double vaxed but is actually much closer to 90% like its neighbours.

Those 3 LGAs have masses of empty student accommodation and units usually rented by students and/or those who worked in the city and/or owned by internationals that returned home. With non PRs/Citizens locked out and hospitality venues in the Sydney lifeless the resident population is well down. CBD numbers were already trending down prior to covid due to the mess the light rail made of getting in and out.

There's an LGA that I'm sure has the wrong denominator in VIC and even so is on track to reach very high full vaccination rates.

The state government has released some numbers by postcode that show much higher numbers in postcodes within the LGA whose populations were relatively unaffected by COVID compared with a postcode that would likely have had its population significantly reduced by COVID unsurprisingly showing much lower vaccination levels.

I doubt it will be donated to 3rd world countries, but dumped on the sly
Not dumped on the sly
Once thawed and reconstituted PZ has a very short expiry date. There would not be enough time to collect all the residual doses from everywhere, collate, then re-export
Or is it not allowed to re-sell without permission?
correct as well. Supply agreements have this clause
Set up kiosks and give them a Coles/Woolies voucher and say "Christmas dinner is on us for vaxxed people
Not the same, but In the US, lots of people got multiple Jabs in order to get Free burgers. Multiple - I have read some got in excess of 10 jabs so they could get free burgers.

Moderna jabs are now out pacing AZ in November

Well most people having AZ in September and October were probably second doses. September onwards mRNA supply has improved significantly.

94.99% fully vaccinated for 70+. So when today’s numbers are released tomorrow that figure will be above 95%.

12-15 is at 59.66% fully vaccinated and should go past 60% fully vaccinated when today’s numbers are released tomorrow.

50-54 is at 90% fully vaccinated.

It is starting to look like that about 95% (or just a little higher) double vaxxed for the 16+ population may be the ceiling for Australia.

Marshall slipped 95% into the press release Monday and I think he was referencing 12+ because that's our target for open international borders @ 90%. Sigh. He keeps changing the goal posts. And I see covid live is also reporting this in the Days to Go charts.

What's the story with getting the younger children done? The only cases of covid that I know of, are in three children (9, 7 & 3). Each one got it at school/pre school.

We're waiting to see how things go in the US atm and will probably start doing kids aged 5-11 next year.

Healthy kids, especially young kids are highly unlikely to get seriously ill from COVID. It's important to get the dose level right and for the authorities to be satisfied that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks for young kids.
