The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

More an IT quirk as opposed to a gripe.

I've booked a paid OPO-LGW with BA via BA site. As part of the booking process I entered my QFF number, don't have EC account with BA.

Can see the booking on the QF app on both Ipad & Android phone but it doesn't show if I'm logged into my QFF account on the laptop. It was there for about a month after I booked but then dropped off.
Been this way for quite a while, and happens with CX, AY etc also.

Check out this amazing 'flight change' notification:

QF changes.PNG

Yes, the flight's been changed by a whole day!

No, hang on. All the 'new flight' entails is them acknowledging that the flight arrives the next day, not same day. No 'change' at all.

It wouldn't be so hopeless if they hadn't sent me the exact same 'change' last December.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

@RooFlyer I also received something similar for a flight booked through QF (JL redemption) I had to look twice to see what had changed as everything looked the same, with the exception of "+1". I guess I get why QF sent this out as a change, but what person would actually think you can take off from JFK at 13:10 and arrive at HND at 16:25 on the same day. JFK-HND is 14 hrs and across the IDL, in the lose time direction. I am sure there are knuckleheads out there that may think this is possible.;). From memory both MrsM and I have both received this message twice in the past few months.

What kind of airline records a flight which departs on one day and arrives the next (no matter if you are looking at it in the arrival or the departure time zones) in their own systems as arriving and departing on the same day? And then apparently still records it thus even when something has picked up the error previously? ... and has re-issued the ticket previously (and again, this time):rolleyes::rolleyes:

@RooFlyer I agree with you. However there is another angle to this that I like and have used to my advantage on more than one occasion. Whenever I get this type of notification I take the opportunity to review my itinerary to make other changes. Case in point our JFK-HND flight (mentioned above) is part of a OW miles redemption and was sent a message about the '+1'. I also wanted to change the LHR-JFK leg, same day but a later departure time and didn't want to pay the points change fee. When I received the original "we have had to make some changes to your flights" or something like that I called QF. All the standard pleasantries were exchanged, I then proceeded to change the LHR-JFK sector to the flight I was after and once this was done I asked the agent 'I assume there in no change fee as this is an involuntary change' or words to that effect and the agent said 'yes' no change fees will be applied. The agent then asked if I needed to make any changes to the JFK-HND flight, to which I said no. At times some minor annoyance can be used to your advantage. Just my thoughts.

To do what on the QF site? e.g. manage bookings, make new bookings, or just surfing.

I've had a six person multi-city itinerary crash on the payment page on two browsers now! Not happy - nor with the current 1hr 10mins on hold hoping someone can help me sort it out!

Still unable to make a booking today.
Thought I had found the problem when I opened the QF website via Chrome as it allowed me to surf prices for about 5 minutes but then it reverted back to the same page as posted last night. Oh well I’ll look at other airlines as it’s all too hard now

So 2 days later and still can’t book anything. Went around to the MIL’s house and tried her PC, it let me search bookings for about 5 minutes and then crashed. Have tried everything to no avail

I don’t seem to have this problem. I presume you are logged in to you QFF account? Have you tried searching without logging in?

Have tried without logging in and have even tried going via google flights and choosing Qantas and the same thing happens.
At the MIL’s yesterday I did it without logging in and it was fine for about 5 minutes before crashing

Or have you tried a different browser?
That’s what I’m trying to figure out.
The rest of the website works perfectly ie I can use MMB and book hotels etc but can’t book flights. I’ve tried Chrome on both my phone and MIL’s desktop and still nothing. Any suggestions for other browsers

A while ago, I had an issue where the whole site would load except the search box. I could only fix it by opening site in a private window. Have you tried that?
