Well done you.
Many years ago my first wife had a peacock display to her at the Gorge Wildlife Park near Adelaide.

On the weekend it was our 50th Wedding anniversary. So we decided on something special.Friday afternoon we drove to Port Arthur where we stayed next door at Stewarts Bay lodge on the Friday and Saturday nights. Here is our room - a spa suite.

There was a second bedroom but as we booked as a couple it was locked. Doesn't sit well with me.

So to dinner and the menu.

Saturday and it was off to a well reviewed Van bone restaurant at Marion Bay. On the way we stopped off near Eaglehawk Neck and visited the Blow hole -

Did @mrs.dr.ron arrange a meeting with the F & B manager ?

Why ?
I opine that this it is not the customers responsibility to warrant quality….

Now you can walk down to the pavement and walk across it. But not at high tide and the tide was coming in.

Many a big night spent at the Lufra before tuna fishing! Many big nights at the Lufra regretted during tuna fishing!!

The next stop was the Van Bone restaurant a few Kms up the road at Marion Bay. This was for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. A report is here -

Then a slow trip back to the Lodge the long way. First via Dunalley and their old pub.
DSC07553.JPG.

Then close to the Lodge is the McHenry Distillery.

We arrived just after 4pm and unfortunately couldn't partake of the gin tasting for $15. But said the boss I allowed to let you taste any product you want to buy. So tried 4 and bought 2.

Then a short stop at the Port Arthur gift shop. Boy the trees have grown since our visit 40 years ago.

Looked at the menu of the restaurant there and probably should have eaten there on the friday night.

Sunday and time to head back to Lonnie.Stopped at Dunalley for me to have a scallop pie from the Dunalley bakery. They get good reveiws and mine was quite good. Sauce a little thin and pastry a bit too flaky.

Eaten beside the Denison Canal. It is only recently you could access the canal banks .

The walkway along the Canal was a Community project after the disasterous fires of 2013.

Absolutely love Richmond. Somewhere I bought some amazing wooden boards that still delight having dinner w friends (Depending on what I’ve produced). lovely buildings and so glad it hasn’t been interfered with by modern day developers.. thanks @drron
