The "I am in self-isolation" thread

@straitman looks like we won’t need to attend the AFL grand final. The Fremantle Dockers looked good when the score was 0-0.
Thank you @SydneySwan for your take on the Fremantle Dockers. They were good in the last quarter.
Another day and we have not gone totally crazy.......self assessed so we are being kind to each other.
Favourite youngest son is hunting for mince so we can do bolognese.
He is short of toilet paper and has already raided one of our spare apartments.
Mrscove still seems nice......

@serfty you are quite a way ahead of us. Any tips would be appreciated. ...
Tips? I have been online to work 8+ hours each week day, so little time for introspection. I have been getting up to scratch on 'phone conference etiquette.

One anecdote; the large corporation I have been working for has a VPN outage this weekend as they increase capacity - it has been trundling along averaging 800 connections at peak to finding it crashes when 2000+ try to connect.

Browsing the Web has kept me somewhat out of mischief.

My supply of no-sugar Tonic is starting to dwindle; I may be making some strategic sorties at the end of this week.

I will be heading into the office tomorrow. I am the duty officer for the area, so really can't avoid it. I will make good use of the visit, though. I plan to grab a spare monitor, keyboard, mouse and docking station for my laptop. The NextG dongle seems to be doing the job. I am glad I got that double checked early last week when I had a hiccup with it.

I am not in mandatory self isolation, but am ramping up my precautions. I have organised to have the paper home delivered from next week, and today was the first day I did not go out for my ritual morning coffee.

The pantry and freezer are pretty well stocked. I don't have much in the way of tonic, but worst of all, I have run out of Vegemite!

I bought tonic this morning but I bought Schweppes not home brand because I couldn't see from the label whether the home brand variety had any quinine in it. The Schweppes one does, although I suspect only minute quantities as if it had therapeutic quantities it wouldn't be sold as a soft drink on supermarket shelves.

Still it's a great excuse for a G&T :p

You need an excuse? :D

I wonder if the Sodastream concentrate has quinine in it?

So much for the self isolation of new arrivals. Chatting to our neighbour today and said his niece works at a hotel on NSW coast. Received a phone call from someone wanting to serve out the 14 day period in their hotel. She told him she'd need to check their policy and would call back. His next question - Do you have a gym onsite or nearby?

Have to go to work tomorrow because I need to have our JP sign some nomination forms for driver fines, grab a monitor raiser and I'm happy to go in lockdown.

Would like a last veggie shop but not going to fight the masses for tomatoes

Did a full wipe down with some 99% effective wipes of all the stuff we have been touching....
Time for chocolate....

Got an email from Coles advising that they think they will have the ability to prioritise the needy and re-enable their Coles Online delivery portal by the end of next week. I'm sorry but that is just pathetic. I get that they are under great strain but this is a little more than a nice to have, you have people isolating right now and you reckon it might take a whole week to find a way to mark certain people as being high priority and as a result, you'll not allow anyone at all to make online delivery orders.

The worst part is they're pretty much the only sector doing well out of this whole debacle. How many people who should be isolating will be running to the shops in the meantime to get what they need and infecting others. Is this not obviously an area in which we could very easily avoid further damage being done?
