A while back but thought I would mention it. OP at gate SYD-LAX on VA1 (4/04/14) on the Y+ to J seat 1C. No OP on the return.

Flying on EK 1.5 weeks ago. (Bought a $1,100 return ticket in Y SIN-DXB-CDG-DXB-SIN) Got upgraded to business for the two legs coming back. Fair to say i got my value out of that $1100! Best mate who is SG got upgraded for the CDG-DXB leg as well.

Only bummer was the 12 hour delay in SIN for my JQ flight back to PER.

Definitely flying EK again. The product in my opinion is soo much better than QF and don't get me started on the first lounge in DXB...

Something has happened, and I'm stuffed if I know what it was but got another Y to J upgrade BNE/MEL so this by fourth upgrade since the HKG get together, whatever it was that has caused this I hope to god it keeps happening!!!!

So I've gone from 1 in 100 to 1 In 22, awesome ratio trend

Op-up to business class SYD-BNE yesterday at the gate from 4D to 1C.

Apparently the IFE at 4D was not functional. One of the newer 738s. The guy in 4E was already sitting in 4D when I boarded. Flight was not full.

Interesting thing on board the person next to me and a few others in business were not given first choice of meals as they were supposed to be on earlier flight but were delayed on ZQN-SYD flight. And a lady in row 3 missed her connection to BDB.

Well the good times just keep rolling along. Upgrade to 1A on QF35 today from the cheapest nastiest Brazil fare. Way to go QF

Also spotted another AFF'er in the F lounge this morning but I'm stuffed if I can remember his name, I think I need another drink.....

Edit: crisis averted, we are on the same flight, fingers crossed for his op-up.

Nice end to a Bledisloe cup weekend. AKL airport was full on Sun afternoon. I suspect a lot of Wallaby supporters added to the crowd. EK oversold Y and put me in J to MEL

Oh yes, that was after 8 (in a row) successful two party sticker upgrades on AA over a four week period.

It seems the partners, especially Emirates are lavish in the upgrades. Now, hoping for similar Syd-BKK at Christmas. At least we will get almost 4 hours in F lounge. By the time I depart it might not matter anyway.

Just arrived home, and was op-up'd on EK418 - BKK-SYD from Business to First! Loved the service! Very comfortable few hours sleep too! WP has some advantages with EK....

LOL that wouldn't be bad at all and yes 19th was referring to the date not number of up ups

No we were on separate PNR as we are on different flights coming home I did however get them to tie the two bookings together so that I could allocate our seats together.

If Y was not full. does this qualify as an op-up? Has Qantas started to be a bit more generous with upgrades when J seats are available?

It could be a sweetener to a recent issue I had which had been quickly resolved but at that time, there was no mention of an upgrade. Maybe they needed some ballast at the front to land the plane. Whatever it was, I am grateful.
