The Planespotting/General AV Geek Thread

Which genius decided the week of the airshow would be a good one to do freeway roadside works (with lane closures)?

I think it is due in Avalon for the airshow on Friday.

That was a post from a month ago... :):D
Did see a reference to it not long after I posted that the 737Max was doing hot n high testing. As it turned out that flight only flew down to close to the NT/QLD/SA border then turned and head NW again landing back in Darwin.

Also at KUL, here's an airline I had never heard of before: US Bangla. According to Wiki they have a fleet of 3 B737.

Now a Google VIP jet. They bought it via a holding company in Jan 2005 from QF.
Initially registered in 1987 as VH-EAQ.
I guess some of us have flown on it.

Good news for John Travlota fans.
I hope they set up the interior as it was as a passenger airliner, unlike the 707 on display at Longreach which is nothing more than a flying apartment for some Sheikh.

Is there a context to this??

Whilst I am led to believe that the Travolta owned 707 is to be retired, not sure of the reason for the comment?

Apologies you are correct of course. The pics of the Longreach surroundings reminded me of the 707 located there and thus the JT connection. I used to watch the Constelations crawl over Sydney flying into a stiff westerly.
