A B707 variant(?) on the tarmac at DRW today. Presumably transported personnel in for Exercise Pitch Black which commences soon.

I thought this old B737 parked at the Iguassu Falls sightseeing helicopter base looked very different with its skinny P&W engines.

The helo was more appealing. I’m sure someone can tell me what make it is. I like the way the landing area had an embankment over which they placed the tail boom so there was no prospect of anyone walking into tail rotors (they were also flying a different bird with an open tail rotor later in the day.)

Now with added winglets...

reading up on its history, seems it was stored at VCV in Sptemeber 2014, re-assigned to Boeing March 2015, which is when the winglets were probably added. Picked up by Westjet December 2015.

If you ever visit AMS, make sure you check out the Panorma Terrace above the main terminal building! It’s landside and free for anyone to access.

Home in Lismore for Christmas and was shocked to see an Orion sitting at the airport! Seems it was unable to land at Evans Head where it is being retired to and Lismore was close enough for them to move it via road. Can't believe I missed it flying in by a couple of weeks...

'Home' here in Lismore is actually in Orion Street - so very cool :)

Why this impressive ex-military plane is landing in Lismore

Hi to all Planespotter geeks.
Very few aircraft fly above where I live so it's quite an event to rush out to witness the flyover.
Last Thursday a jet left a pretty remarkable contrail way above southern Tasmania. I immediately consulted FlightRadar24 to identify this aircraft which turned out to be a 767 coded B762 Perth to Christchurch, though no info was given on its ID. It took a long time descending into Christchurch. The following day, in the afternoon the same aircraft flew back to Perth, again overhead at 31,000 feet. It was following an Air New Zealand Auckland flight to Perth once over Hobart. I watched it for a time on the computer site until the site said the flight viewing was barred and the icon mysteriously vanished. I also viewed it on RadarBox and their site had barred it earlier. I suspect this aircraft may have been taking dignitaries to the Christchurch Memorial service on the Friday morning.
Anyone have more details on this aircraft?

OK, so technically this is not YET a plane spotting post, I thought I'd post what WILL be a plan spotting post on May 6!!!
Looking forward to this like you would not believe, and it will come the week after the Planes of Fame Airshow in LA.

@Pliny
The aircraft modelnumber B767-2AX might be the clue
It is owned by Saudi Aramco with a rego N767A (Aramco = Arabian and American Oil company but now a nationalised company)
Usually these aircraft are Flight tracking app silent (as per request by owners of these aircraft)
Same reason you cant see James Packer's flights

Probably carrying a Saudi ambassador /dignitary.

I thought initially King Hussein of Jordan but he flies in an Airbus.
